Surgery rules North Queensland halfback Johnathan Thurston out for season and World Cup
JOHNATHAN Thurston’s fairytale finish has been shattered.
The superstar playmaker is poised to miss the rest of the season as he faces a six month recovery period.

The Cowboys skipper confirmed on Friday that he requires surgery to fix his injured shoulder.

“It just felt like a cork to the shoulder,” Thurston said.

‘When I first did it in the test I could first get through the game.

Cant see Lichaa being offered a lot on the open market. Apparently the dogs have offered a very low contract for next season. There was talk Benji wanted to go back to the tigers before June 30 but they signed Lolo so I think anything can happen from now till June 30.

Mail is Lichaa was told early on in the season he wouldnt be wanted for next year and he he was encouraged to have his manager look around for 2018.
Unless thats changed the dogs dont want him, although they might attempt to play hardball, as you do when somebody has something others want in the NRL and they are still under contract.
BUT i think they might release him out of good faith/compassionate, wouldnt surprise me if he is an eel soon...............gulp

So Cameron King finally gets his first opportunity in two seasons to play "1s" and hes been ruled unsatisfactory before he even runs on the field. Gee its a tough game. How does a coach get the committment demanded from players when they are virtually told they are not good enough.
I for one am really interested to see how King goes in better company.

What would be the "compassionate grounds" he'd be seeking a release for I wonder? Can't be so that he's closer to family surely - isn't he a Sharks junior? The Shire is a bit closer to Belomore than Parramatta... although if you fang it down the M7 and on to the M5 maybe you could make the journey pretty quick??!!!
I'm pretty sure the compassionate grounds are because he's had to play for the Dogs. I think you'll find that's covered under the Geneva Conventions

Yeah sounds that way. I wonder if he would play better getting away from Dessie they say that he isn't allowed to run the ball much just pass it.

Has he been told he is unsatisfactory?
Have we announced someone else or are you going off BA's comments in the presser the other day?

Doubt he'll turn in to a gazelle out of dummy half if he comes to the Eels.... none of our hookers under Arthur's tenure have exhibited much in the way of a running game either....
