I think his recruitment was built around what was a very good team. A semi replacement seemed a priority and "low and behold" up pops Jarryd.

Seemed a risk worth trying. I'm depressed to say, a risk that appears not to have worked. He needs to go to Wenty, find form and work his way into the team on merit.
No chance in the world his ego would allow that. He will be out for a while with that hip flex injury anyway.

Let’s see how we go without him,

Absolutely. I was almost happy to see that occur. Put everyone back to where they've proven they were effective at. Re-establish the on-field leadership from last year (accepting Timmy is a figurehead) and let's see.

My real fear is however the Jarryd experiment has hurt the coaches dressing room.... 'cause something looks very wrong atm.

That’s a pretty bad thing to say tbh.
I don’t think that’s the case at all.
I feel like where just being out enthused and need a bit of an attitude adjustment.

Maybe next weekend we can take a leaf out of the Tigers book.

Once we sort our attitude and start mastering the little things there more then enough talent in our side to be competitive.

I honestly don't care if it's bad. His form is totally non-existent. He hasn't earn his way into that group. And until this year attitude has been a strong point for us.

What's changed? We both know. And I loved Jarryd in his past stint at eels. And I supported the decision to bring him back. I did say however, we'd know after tackle 1 who'd returned to the club. An Arthur player would scramble to get up for a quick play the ball. Jarryd unfortunately did "old" Jarryd and resentfully and slowly crawled up staring at the upstart tacklers who'd been so rude as to tackle him, totally disregrading team momentum. I'm not pleased about all of this, I hoped it would be a masterful move to replace Semi. Now I'm just afraid of the "attitude" that's been apparent in the squad.

Also Geoff Toovey is available as an assistant and a ready made replacement if things go pear shaped with Arthur.
You cannot appoint a "ready made replacement" as an assistant ... it will just cause distractions and f**k things up more ..... the head coach needs to pick his assistants or you are just sabotaging your team

Haven’t they already worked with each other at Manly?

Social media have been very cruel to JH overnight.

Heartledge seems to be the go-to word and implying that he walked off last night cos he CBFd.

I was one that kept changing my mind about his return and was accepting due to the romanticism of the return.

The best member on these forums (Colonel) where is that bastard anyway? warned us and once again the wise old prick who is actually younger than me is proving so far to be right. I know many others had the same opinion even though I think it’s too early to call. However it’s not looking good so far.

Jarryd Hayne is not causing us to lose the ruck in attack and defence. It is a combination of the new rules, our small pack and a lack of fitness in terms of the wrestle (we are shit at it). Last year in defence we relied on line speed and this year they are cracking down on getting off the line early. We are getting penalised a lot for leaving early. Also the attention to detail when playing the ball is killing us too. We can't get quick play the balls away. Last year Brown rolled the ball with his hands (no foot) constantly. I remember commenting on it thinking we will get penalised. We never did. Mannah didn't use his feet much either. Now they are cracking down and all our smaller forwards are playing the ball slower, and getting dominated in the tackle just exacerbates the problem

Yes but you know that he f**ked his hip at 0:01 in the kickoff ? Why are merkins using that as ammunition against his signing ?

His acquisition has impacted upon:

The fullback position. Both centre positions and the contribution of our halves and how they play with him.

Does Norman need a stint at Wenty? Seems like he’s not trying. Burns me say that because he’s one of my favourites but he’s just doing nothing.

If Brad chooses to appoint him as assistant then thats fine ... but no one else can force such a well credentialled coach into the mix .... only reason you would do it is if you are trying to upset the apple cart and prepared to write off the season
