The whole (unsigned beyond 2022) squad is about to extend. Mahoney and Marata we desperately want to keep which means we may have to pay overs and not make any new signings. They are in huge demand. More than the others.

Marata’s value to us depends on how we intend to use him.

If we intend to use him off the bench mainly as a middle and only starts when there is injuries, yeah he probably isn’t worth much more then $300-$400.

But if we see him as a starting edge player for the next 2-3 years, then he is probably worth $500-$600k.

He’s on approx $320k pa, Tigpies were desperate and needed a big, young prop. We came back with a decent offer but he had already signed . There are a few that were offered close to decent first grade cash prior to really showing it, Curran, Bondi Odo, Tapieri, and then others offered development deals while we making decisions like Kei, Keppie , Mooney etc.

Led to believe things have improved with a new structure at the club, have to see how that works out.

Actually I'd have Matterson and Niukore as starting edges, Lane definitely to bench (should NEVER play 80min EVER again, 20-25 mins max) to cover middle and Papali'i to cover edge players. Has great impact when comes on and playing against tired players will have even greater impact.

No idea, you’d argue some of our young backs still have improvement in them and Kaufusi, Brown and Mahoney are still young enough.

But guys like Paulo,RCG, Moses and Guth have reached their ceilings, can Papa back up this years effort?? Debatable, and as for the coaching staff do you honestly believe they are capable of getting this team to the next level from what we have seen from them the last 8 years???

Matto showed how good he can be in the Middle in the Penrith game, and to think Captain Front load picked Maka over him. Oh dear!!
