Just saw on 9 news. Ciraldo spotted lunching with Dogs powerbrokers. Craig Laundy, George Mimis (his manager).
I'd say done deal.
Reminded me of the secret meeting the Dogs had to get their last coach and former assistant to Cleary. How did that end up panning out?

The media frenzy with Ciraldo is at constant vinegar stroke levels. The guy has done nothing yet they are making out like they are about to land Bellamy or Bennett.

Personally I don’t think our club needs the pressure of another untested rookie coach. Todd Payten or Shane Flanagan present less risk. I’d take either of them before Ciraldo.

Ciraldo might be the next big thing. But it wasn’t that long ago Barrett was being praised to the hilt about his influence on Penrith’s attack. Outside of the media beating their drum for Ciraldo what have we got to go on? Be interesting to watch how he turns out.
Agree. Could be another dismal failure. However when he takes over he will have a much better squad than Barrett. It does go to show when you tweak a few things like Potter has done it can make a huge difference.
Dogs have actually played well since Potter took over and were in it up to their eyeballs against soufs

Completely agree on all fronts.
Those two would be my preference and then Robinson although he has signed or is signing a 5 year extension..
If BA was to win a comp between now and 2024 then I'd extend him for 5 years. I really hope this camp they have been on just sparks them to play their best footy for the rest of the year.
Need to finish top 4 otherwise start planning for 2023

@Poupou Escobar often talks about luck deciding the premiers and @hindy111 always comments about games with less than 1 converted try the difference being a game either side could have won, so I thought I would have a look at the last 3 finals series and see if there was a pattern. Not really a pattern, but looking at the 5 teams that have played the most finals in the last 3 years, there are some interesting observations.

TeamGames PlayedGames Won<= 6 point diff.Biggest Win/LossSmallest Win/Loss
Melbourne *863/8 = 32.5%+32 / -8+4 / -2
Souths844/8 = 50%+26 / -24+4 / -2
Roosters *743/7 = 42.8%+24 / -36+1 / -1
Penrith *757/7 = 100%+4 / -6+1 / -6
Parramatta621/6 = 16.6%+58 / -32+8 / -2
* Premiers in last 3 years.

Apart from Penrith having a close fought contest in every finals match they have played in, I am not sure what else I take from these numbers, but I already completed the analysis so thought I would share.

Penrith lucked in last year when they won all 3 knock-out finals last year by 4 points or less in each game.

In the semi and GF both teams scored the same amount of tries and came down to penalty goal that decided it.

One of the tries they scored was an intercept in the GF.

All 3 results could have been reversed on another day.

He's got one less finals win than BA in about 8 and a half years less time...........

I don't think ciraldo will be the problem at the Dogs.

It will be Gus and his lack of patience.

Gus also has a propensity to get rid of players mid contract to sign a new toy that he sees and gets excited about which causes salary cap issues.

Hiw do you know we haven’t had a quiet chat ?
Because that would mean the club would have to be proactive, the only time our dribbling CEO has ever been proactive was when he swooped on in through the back door and nabbed the job.
