The term 'first choice' refers to full availability. The players picked in any given round aren't the first choice for that game. They are just the players chosen that week, when actual first choice players may be unavailable. The fact a player is injured or suspended doesn't stop him being first choice. It just stops him being picked that week.

I reckon Sivo was less lazy in 2022 once his game condition improved post his return from injury, than at any previous time in his career. Maybe hed been carrying injurys for a considerable amount of time prior. Lets see how he starts 2023.

You are missing the obvious point that Dunster was the first (after Sivo) choice for a wing spot in 2022, but injuries to them both meant alternate choices needed to be made for round 1. It wasnt fake news that I posted, it was commonsense.

No, I would tend to likely agree with you on that - if that's what you'd actually posted, without the "first choice in Round 1 2022" which muddled your point, and in fact made what you posted incorrect.

Stone was borderline and would be at atleast half clubs in NRL of getting just a bench spot. Guys like him form just needs to dip slightly amd they would be out of the side.

f**k Semi was special. He f**king had it all. If he’d stuck round I’ve no doubt he’d have been the greatest winger the NRL had ever seen.

If he had stayed and continued his try scoring rate, which probably would have improved as we've become a better team and the rule changes. He would have comfortably been in the top 5 try scorers of all time.

I really doubt that... I think JA was always gonna be in the mix. The thing with the Dylan to centre was telling me they werent really sure about Dylan then.

I dont think dylan to centre said much about dylan ... other than they respected his ability to play well in another position

I think it just said they thought that was the strongest team we could field at the time with a bunch of outside backs injured .... and thats certainly up for debate

I would say we probably would have won a comp if Semi stayed.

Its a big call but we miss that 1 x-factor that can take a game away. I suppose you could argue the extra money Semi wanted would have affected other areas but Fergo's money spent on Semi during his tenure we go close.

Those seasons where we were bundled out in week 2 what we could have done with a player like Semi when we needed a big play.

Look at the 2021 semi final against Penrith we only needed that one piece of brilliance and we would have beaten them.

That loss still pisses me off more then the GF this year. As we actually should have beaten them that night. GF we weren't a realistic chance after 10 mins.

You can't choose someone first in a round, if they're unavailable to be chosen... but it's amusing how much energy you guys are still putting into something that was a simple error within a post on emjaycee's part, which he has admitted. This would have been over in two posts - my factcheck, and an (eventual) emjaycee acknowledgement - if you gents hadn't been as apparently ruffled by it .
