The problem many commentators have is giving to much information on the play. Its not on the radio but on TV, we can see with our own eyes. No need to give the small details of x player passes the ball to the left. We can see this with out own eyes ffs.. You need to tell a few stories during the nothing moments to keep the viewer interested. That what RABBS was great at. Along with some banter also.

I can't believe some thought Rabbs was passed it. He researched players, told a story. He was excellent. A true professional.

The new young bloke on ch 9 is too positive and bit boring. He just asks the so called experts on their opinion and seems to sit on fence with his own.

Warren Ryan on FOX is the best in business now. Voss is ok but he makes it feel a bit like we are watching a comedy act and carries on like a rabbit.

If anyone watches the NFL you will love how professional the guys are that commentate. They are another level. It makes you feel like you are almost watching a movie the way they capture the Audience. Many could learn of their skill.

rabbs was good but then started making mistakes while he was calling.

but the commentator yesterday did too. He said Russell done an acl last year.

How about the Panthers ground announcer calling a try for Zac Cini when the Penrith number 4 scored. Not only once but he did it twice for the same try.

Wonder how he felt when Zini scored for us and he had to call him again...lol

No problems, to each his own....I personally can't stand the way he 'gushes' over players. BTW, Rabbits is going to call the DRH All Stars 'Pie in the Sky' match against Junee Diesels at Laurie Daley Oval, Junee on Saturday Feb 25.
He is horrible !!!!

I think you mean Warren SMITH..not the Wok
I prefer Warren Smith to any of them on TV too.
I had the pleasure of calling a match alongside David Morrow in 2011. He was very very good - and a good bloke as well. On the ball....

Yep agree with Warren Smith. He actually talks up the refs! And isn't negative like some commentators.

Jimmy Smith is the worse out of the all.

I will be honest .... i think the cricket commentators only became interesting when the 12th man started taking the piss out of em
His parodies of them came from somewhere though. That commentary group were the best in Australia. Honourable mention to Bruce McAvaney for 2000 Olympics.
I think that’s what it takes. Take it to being a good parody opportunity, but not actually be a parody yourself. The exception was Big Daz.
