One thing our club must do if they continue to take a game the Darwin is be telling the side they are taking we go aslong as you do the same when we play. Take the game to a neautral ground to spread the game.
Nrl wants to be professional yet Brisbane get Manlys home game at theirs every magic round. How the hell does this work out that they never have their own home game on magic round?
That's a huge advantage. Throw in us taking our home game against them. A potential 4 point swing to them.
At home I reckon we win amd same goes for Manly. Hard to take the game seriously when they spin this rubbish.
It's because NRL clubs need money, and some need more than others. Taking a home game to Darwin or Brisbane provides a huge windfall to an NRL club. But the Broncos are the richest club in the NRL. They just don't need to make those sorts of sacrifices.
Manly haven't been successful since Penn took 100% ownership (he was about 40% during their last two premierships). He was always bound to get sick of spending any more than the bare minimum, especially when he realised they come from cultures he can't stand.
Manly hardly won a f**king thing in junior reps until a few years ago when they set up a 'development' operation in Blacktown. Then they won Harold Matts twice (2018, 2021), were minor premiers in SG Ball (2019) and grand finalists (2015) and premiers (2017) in Holden Cup. From 2015 to 2021 their SG Ball team made the finals every year and Harold Matts never finished lower than 6th. NYC/Flegg made the finals about half the time. Suddenly last year only SG Ball made the finals, in 8th place. This year all three grades are running last or second last. Seibold's fault? Most likely is that they just got sick of incinerating money. It is unsustainable for most clubs, by which I mean the owners.
