He's a dick, but a scumbag?

That's more Jarryd Hayne, and Matt Lodge, territory, imo.

And if he's worth an average of $1.2 million a year, then I'm the next Prime Minister of Australia.

He isn't worth 1.2mill to most clubs. But for the Tigers to nab him they had to pay overs. So what is he worth? I'd say Penrith offer of around 850k is about right.
He wasn't going to leave for 150k extra. So let's say the Tigers paid 350k extra. It will entice other players to join for 2025. They will look at the roster and go well hey its not to bad now so a guy who is worth 400k that they had to offer 550k to get may go for 450k now.

Plenty of ways to waste money. We are paying 900k for Jnr. In 2023 he was no better then plenty of 300k propr going around. We also paid N.Brown around 500k to play NSW CUP. And what was Waqa costing to play there? I'd say atleast 400k.

So yes every side over pays players I'd say. The biggest issue is if they end up in NSW CUP and become a complete dead weight.

LUAI will long term save the Tigers money on new recruits

They allowed an NRL capable half (Hastings) to get off the bus and allowed a less than capable half (Brooks) to stay. Yet another strange decision by the old board.

Other things going on with Hastings and despite the fact it left us with no halves, was probably the right decision to let him go....but it did leave us with only Brooks as a half.

Tigers have gone from a halves stable of Brooks, Wakeham, Will Smith, Adam Doueihi .....to Sezer, Fainu, Sullivan, Galvin, Luai (25) in less than 12 months which is a pretty massive turnaround.

We literally had Wakeham/Smith as our halve at one stage last year. Much more confident in a Sezer/Sullivan/Fainu combo for 24 and Luai/Fainu for 25. Last year Tigers were 2nd for tackles in the opposition 20m. Our problem isnt getting upfield its what to do when we get there. I am very confident that Sezer/Fainu/Sullivan can improve this.

Luai as a player is worth $900K pa
Luai as a character to instill some arrogance, confidence and a "winners" mentality into a squad that have had this smashed out of them over 10 years is worth $200K
Luai as a marketing tool for recruiting, media and fans is worth $ 100K
Luai as a personality to piss off fans of other clubs ....priceless.

Wakeham in the halves wasn't really a positive, from the Tigers games I'd seen. Did he even get a contract to play somewhere else, or has he given the game up?

I'm not sure the Sezer/Sullivan part of the combo for this season will be any better than what was there previously. Interested to see how Fainu progresses though.

Half of 2/4 = 1/4.

I think he thinks they will only have 1 of the aforementioned spine. The only explanation is that they have insider info on Api leaving before Jarome arrives.

Or maybe they mean 2/4 ÷ half which would equal 4/4 so the tigers are also signing cleary and edwards?

Such a cryptic post, what could it mean? That's the million dollar question

Luai will be there for some time.

You'll see alot of panfer players, once off contract , join him or goto the dogs

They will be like the retirement home for the veteran panfer players in years to come

If he's worth $1.2 million, then there isn't enough money in the world to properly value Cleary...

Where was Luai in the Grand Final when the Panthers were down?

It was Nathan Cleary who stood up, and single-handedly dragged Penrith back into the game.

Nobody is pissed off - everyone is laughing at the Tigers for paying such massive overs for the bloke.

He's not nearly as good as his new salary makes him appear to be.

Not yet......but hasnt played a game yet.

Good luck to you guys.

He will help you guys, for sure.

But he isn't the go-to man when the chios are down, and I hope you have some players around him who can be that, to help drag you out of a hole.

I suppose you have Api, who is clutch.

Agree. But to be fair he did have a bung shoulder in the Grand final. Still managed 14 LBAS and 13 TAs this season. And 90% tackle efficiency.

Moses had 15 TA's and 11 LBAs. Tackled at 79%.

D.Brown had 16 TAs. And was far more consistent. Spread over 12/17 games so only 5 duck eggs.

Of Moses 15 TA's only 2 come against top 8 sides. One against Newcastle ( Who we put 40+ on) and one against the Storm( Who put 40+ on us) Moses went 12/19 games not creating a TA so shut down. 8 of his TA'S come in two games. Against South and Tigers.

Stats don't lie. Moses needs to be able to unlock good defenses. Imagine B.Hunt behind our pack. Or Moses behind the Dragons.

He was on the sideline, injured.
Though, he was pretty rubbish before he went off. If he stayed on there’s a decent chance Brisbane would have won.

Maybe. But they where gassed the last 20mins. Luai may of run wild. We will never know
