I actually heard the dogs enquired about Makatoa recently.

I wonder if things turn pear-shaped again this year what does Gus do.Still no front row and they won't get any backup from Kikau with the hard stuff which means King, Preston and Curran are doing the bulk of the work. The fix is apparent to sign Suluka-Fifita from Souths who probably won't be available until May. They have Sutton, Patolo, Sam Hughes, Liam Knight and Kautoga listed as there front rowers. Meanwhile they have 9 halves listed in their 30 man squad....
You (and Gus) say utility. I say half.*utilities
I don't think the Dogs would be that stupid, although they did sign Crighton on spine coin so you never know.
Spoon.

Ciraldo was supposedly the next gun super-coach according to the media & in RL circles.
There defence got worse & issues of internal player un-rest was leaked to the media.
Those issues dont get resolved over-night.
It won’t be Gus’s fault that’s for sure.I wonder if things turn pear-shaped again this year what does Gus do.

I would find it pretty funny and a bit of nice karma if Gus taps Reed on the shoulder before his contract runs out realising he over-paid for him.
I suppose it is a business but it was the way Reed did the deal with the Dogs still leaves a sour taste. And some comments he made after leaving the joint.
Papali'i & Niukore were the complete opposite when they left.
At this stage Skelton, Samrani, Rajab, Quai-Ward and Reece Hoffmann would be there depth players in the backs. I would expect all bar Skelton would be considered a possibility of a swap deal. Samrani or Quai-Ward would be decent.i doubt theyd release anyone decent but a depth player.... maybe. we are quite short in the backs.

Willie Mason on his podcast said Reed told him BA just wanted the long accurate pass and defence from him.I've heard there was a bit of friction between Reed and BA.
I also think Reed was slightly overated. Good hooker for sure but if dogs had time again I reckon JMK would of been re signed for half the price.

Reed felt stifled and wanted out. Hodgdson made no sense but Lussick seems very much the BA dummy half.
Or Isaac De Plod.the perfect BA hooker is Nathan Peats

You can see he wasn’t on the same page in the game when he didn’t pass to Moses when we were set up for the FG against the Scum. Only to get saved by a Stone cold stunner. With Brown, Moses and Gutherson in the backline, did he really need to do that much more? He was very good close to the line with the short ball or going himself at times and maybe overplayed that at times as he kept over ruling the halves - Moses in particular - when they were calling for the ball.
All of the spine players have told how they are encouraged to play heads up football - Mahoney included - from news articles and interviews.
There were also suggestions however that Mahoney didn't like playing "second fiddle".....
