I see this talk often about players compared to their prime and it misses a key point. At any moment in time his value is determined by his ability compared to salary. That’s all. So even if a player is past his best, or a long way from it, it doesn’t matter as long as he’s being paid appropriately.

Brailey might well be on more than he’s worth, because the Knights signed him based on his potential, when he was young. But if we signed him it would be based on what he is worth to us.
