Hey Ram. What's your run down on the Ryles appointment. Your opinion is highly valued

This Hindy under the astricts...But my feeling is that he will take time to get his mojo on and feel comfortable in his skin as a head coach. The first year will be getting to know you type of stuff and what we need at a team and club.

This unfortunately for us is not what we at present need. We needed someone that can come in and have his own identity worked out and ready to rumble with the establishment from the get go. We don't have the luxury of football smarts at our club at present and thus he will flounder unless someone like a Brian Smith is appointed that can take the lead and fight the fights he isn't ready for. Head of football is crucial for him. It must be a tyro footy-head that can lay a paths foundation while Ryles is getting his feet as a young coach.

Short of that we will regress and he will slowly lose the dressing room and players like Brown will spear off and our team will slowly disintegrate. Then in a couple of years even players like Moses will not be a certainty of staying.

*****************************************************************************************************
Lets hope he is a stickler for defence and makes that his only priority as coach in the off season before any other COACHING directions.

While focusing on pathways being his only other main task. Focus on pissing off the HOF and maybe if we can swing it bring in his old mentor Brian Smith to take over that job and keep him on a short leash.

Then his links to the Wallabies may also bare some fruit for us with the new impending salary rules and we may just have a chance to turn this catastrophic Eel-ship around and off the rocks.

Bar any of that happening we are doomed to drown at the bottom of the NRL-ladder sea for some time.

Bunker referee Adam Gee reviewed the incident but decided the contact was not high on Martin, and ruled no penalty. But Gee did not determine whether the tackle was late on the halfback, which NRL football boss Graham Annesley said it was.

fmd, if it wasn't high contact, how come his jaw was broken ?

It was well known through last season and into the off-season that they weren’t happy where his development was at and were shopping him around. This was of course after signing that well hyped deal which you have graciously pointed out to me.
Lots of things are ‘well known’ without being true, especially in rugby league. Howarth has been playing reserve grade since he was 19. His trajectory has been fine. Maybe the Storm were concerned they paid overs for him and expected him to be top 17 much earlier than this, but remember he is not even 22. He was always going to be a gun.
