Watching Dogs press conference when Ciraldo was asked if he realised they’ve had 7 or 8 2nd half’s keeping teams scoreless it gave me hope. He claimed they are potentially the fittest NRL team and off season work pays off.
I can’t help but hope Ryles is exactly as hard nosed and we can enjoy the same level of competitive nature.
Dogs likely top 4, what a Turnaround around considering they had 10 new players this year.

You have to give it to Phil Gould. He’s built up the club and they are still recruiting. Meanwhil, our f**kers like Jim and Mon and f**king clue. They are garbage amateur management.

Yeah but the players would rather carry a rope

They have signed players who work hard. This is why coaching isn't the silver bullet. These merkins need to be determined and disciplined at their core, or the work they are forced to do at training will be wasted somewhat. Work ethic is part of who we are, just like natural size, strength, speed and skill. It can be improved but only to a point. This is why big/fast/fit/skillful merkins who get arrested or banned keep getting second chances. The Dogs sacked a bunch of merkins and brought new ones in because turds can only be polished so much.

I gotta be honest, I can see you beating us in the last round. But weirdly, I’m genuinely beyond caring. Season destroyed by injury. If we come second last by 2 points it changes nothing to me. Still an entirely rubbish season.
One wooden spoon doesnt really matter and no one remembers. Three in a row and people start to chatter.

Blake Wilson has been given permission to speak to other clubs.
Really

Wilson said after the dogs beat us this year Gutho personally rang him last year and tried to convince him to come but he stayed loyal to the dogs.

Great to see Gus is showing that loyalty in return flicking him off first chance he gets.

Dog slips past Eels
Blake Wilson, the Bulldogs’ two-try hero against Parramatta on Monday, probably should’ve been playing for the Eels after they made a significant play for him last year.

There was more money on the table, plus a shot at the fullback position, where Wilson certainly has the ability to play. When he was deciding which club to join, he took a call from Parramatta captain Clint Gutherson, who said he’d move out of fullback to make way for the rising star. Wilson felt a sense of loyalty to the Bulldogs, who plucked him out of the Sunshine Coast where he was in the Storm’s feeder system and gave him a chance on a train-and-trial deal. He signed on for about $50,000 and, since that time, has proved to be a first-grader of real worth.
Meanwhile, there were lovely scenes at the end of Monday’s game when Dogs captain Stephen Crichton gave his boots and headgear to the two boys from the Abdallah family. The looks on the lads’ faces were priceless. The family was hit by tragedy in 2020 when three of their children and a niece were killed by a drunk driver as they walked to get ice-cream.
