Rumours and Stuff

If you need an idea what’s needed at the club, the podcast that James Graham and Tim Mannah put out ii worth listening to. Seems BA fell out with Matt Cameron who was integral to our junior pathways at the time.

Importantly he stated that juniors under DeGois, Shepard, Hodgson and Rankin have the place on the right track. He suggested that past that level is where it needs improving as the club lost the pathways structure implemented by Cameron and the desire for players to want to stay , need more pathways in the top30. The need to get Cameron back to the club was inferred across the debate.

The issue seems that McElduff and Sarentinos would need to admit their assertion that we have the Ponnisi of the West was off the mark, not something they seem keen to acknowledge.

Tim definitely has a passion for the club and the need to see success .

One thing it will do is stamp home the point to Sivo, he is not in our plans for FY25 in case he was thinking he can just stay and play first grade!

Not a fan to be honest.

He has speed but is that going to be enough working out of our own goal line..

this year he has played 10 games (on the wing) for an average of 19 runs / 162 m / 3.9 tb per game.

Decent stats, almost impressive! Probably better then any of our wingers since Fergo.

Good indication he does the hard stuff, and can ruck the ball out.

I changed my tune on Timmy after listening to it.

As much as he probably played 2 years too long he had a nice guy but losing mentality about him which i felt rubbed off on the squad during those lean years between 2011-2018.

He loves the club and the way he was treated at the finish was piss poor and downright disgraceful.

Credit to him for sticking around the club post his playing days and not sulking about it in public either.

He could have walked away and not taken a job within the club and it would have been fair enough too.

Hard to fall out with someone when you weren't at the club - Matt left midway through 2012 while Kearney was coach and before Arthur was made interim coach - He was Under 20's coach at Penrith in 2013 & 2014 before moving to the Tigers and then back to Penrith.

Didn't Gus poach Cameron in 2012? Well before BA was here in 2014?

BA was assistant at the Eels in 2011 and 2012. Was it then?

that may be so but I can tell you there were opportunities for Matt to come back to the club and that pathway was blocked by certain people.

It doesn't really indicate much to me.

It shows he has been playing in a team that is sitting just outside the top 4.

Would he be able to make those same meters at another club?

Let's see how he goes in 2025 on a wing for us that will be the best judge

"Certain people" or Brad?

Given some of the "certain people" we have had involved at the club during those times it makes for a large and interesting list given the vested interest so many had.

Not going to say it was or wasn't BA. But BA picked up the phone pretty quickly to Barrett when he got the sack at the doggies.
