I've heard that a former member of our coaching staff during a NRL game referred to Sivo as "lazy" amongst other things that I won't get into. This individual was warned never to use that language again.
I assume it was the 'amongst other things' (dare I say it, the Yada Yada Yada) that caused the issues, rather than the 'lazy' bit.

It's really the Yada Yada Yada that's been left out that is probably the most pertinent bits.

Mate. I can’t summarise more than you have I agree. I just enjoyed these comments as it’s cemented for me (and hence why I shared as I hope it does others too) what’s been spoken about for a while.

It’s a very thoughtful coaching staff on areas he wants and I hope it’s spot on.

But yes, it came up numerous times (the language was far more rude) about the lack or strategy, creativity and culture we’ve missed for too long.

Oh sorry, the other comment was “Watch our kick chase next season, it’s quite literally the most important thing in Ryles menu along with defensive attacking”. That got me excited.
I think I just came. 😁

Given we have the best long kicking game in the comp. Kick chase should have been a huge priority for this team well before now.

Hopefully kick pressure is something ryles is into as well.

Agree and I’ll agree that I like BA and respect what he initially did. I’m not a snake oil salesperson and have no guarantees but some of the inside info I’ve gave seems so spot on and what we’ve argued (publicly) for ages.

Fingers crossed mate!
Greatly appreciate your post - incredible insight and kind of you to share!

you are also either very brave or don’t plan on being on the forum for a week - because when the Western Red sees your posts there are at least 1000 posts coming your way….

So a chat today with my friend from Parra shared some interesting info. Take this as you will, this is not official opinion if you don’t appreciate my share then move on I won’t share in future.

Most at the club adore Gutho however everyone understands it’s a great opportunity for him. The concern still remains in him longer term.

There was a comment that some are worried Dylan won’t take his option up. However pure speculation as he is very close to BA. Ryles already in communication with him so who knows.

The only other BA loyalist member left is Paulo. Having said that, Paulo is considered as the absolute leader of our team. Already talk to “strip” him, absolutely strip him of serious weight and let him prove his point as a leading front rower in the NRL. BIG weight on his shoulders and he’s onboard apparently.

The thought is that Mitch will be captain, Hopgood vice. (Speculation btw so may be far from fact)

Luca Moretti of all players my contact has heard mentioned as a boom player or boom growth player for next year. Ryles rates what he can be. As he does with a few fringe players we have apparently.

Further to that, the new coaching staff have commented that there are some absolute guns in waiting that they believe “have not really been coached properly at all”.

Comments about Lane they want to “retrain” him to use his massive body. I was told that Lane is a sensitive bloke and he and BA could not stand each other.

Regardless what you think of Lane, I was told BA in front of squad ridiculed the fact he was meditating before a game an BA alienated him to the rest. They believe Lane under new coaching has a LOT to offer.

There was a comment BA scared the group after they around mental wellness. He didn’t manage multiple personalities differently.

Comments around we had a mental coach for 22 and BA despite the success thought it was rubbish and punted him for 23…

The Williams signing has come with a commitment of the coaching team eliminating his error rate. They believe they will and he is a gun for 25.

The other comment was around the fact we have recruited coaching based on union “skill based coaching”. There is a heavy emphasis I’m told with the new team on footy skills. Apparently there was a comment that Mitch amazingly did very little kicking practice.

Anyway that’s what I have. Only comments. And nothing official but assume you like me would appreciate.
Thanks Stevie .. posts like this make it worth filtering through all the waffle … much appreciated

Agree. Tbh it wasn’t shocking though. This person thinks BA is a genuinely good person. But it’s now being spoken about how emotionally limited he potentially is/was.

You guys know I’m passionate about mental health. There are a few younger players apparently that had commented BA was amazing if you are physically tough, but really distanced about suspected “mental” barriers.

The feedback from new coaching staff was that Lane is highly rated and has plenty to offer. But, he (like most young guys) probably needs to be dealt with differently to an old school warrior.

I think Lane absolutely has plenty to offer, and you can tell from speaking with him, and from his body language, that he views the world in a different way.

He needs to be interacted with in a different way to other players.

Keen to see what Ryles can do with Shaun, because an in-form Shaun Lane is very good for us.

That's awesome to hear!

Our kick-chase has been abysmal for a while, now (which is weird, coming from a team coached by a guy who is all about chasing collisions).

Usually the first kick chase is our best and it's usually Carty but after that it's the worst in the competition. We don't go up in a line and the first run of the play the ball the opposition are never under pressure

I’m certain it only takes one party to activate a mutual option, and in this case it wasn’t us.

There's so much different reporting on this issue it'd hard to know what is the truth with all of these. One of the scenarios I've read is that if the player takes up the option it's at a lower salary than if the club takes up the option.

Great news. The difference between the quality of our teams passing and rugby players is night and day.

I thought we started to use him more effectively under TBaz in the games he was still out on the edge. His hands let him down far too often, but we seemed to be getting him 1 on 1 or into space a lot more

Hodgson explained his MO as that the club has an option at a certain value and the player has one at a lower value.
If the player activates he gets the lower value contract. If the club activates then the player receives the higher value contract. Makes perfect sense to me.
