I wasn't much of a fan of signing JAC, but having thought about it for a bit I have come to believe it could be a good signing.

Depending on a few things of course:
1. Price. He is not worth what he was when the Dogs signed him, so I hope we aren't paying anywhere near what they did. It was obvious they believed he was overpaid which is why he was sacked.

2. Length of contract. He is not getting any younger and will be 30 next year. His biggest assests are his speed and agility, which lessen over time. Anything longer than a 2-year contract I think will be too long.

3. Injury issues. He has missed a lot of games over the last two seasons. This is a worry, especially when it comes to hamstrings.

4. He needs to stop being an idiot.

Even with these issues, he would still be the best winger we would have on the roster (apart from Lomax who will probably be playing centre), so it makes sense to sign him.

I’ve come around to it as well. I think 2025 is a low expectation year (with some moderate hope of pleasant surprise) as we move some parts in. That means if it is 2 year contract, performance risk is really only a problem in 2026, but in that he’s probably not the only player at risk. So really the main risk is if he hasn’t actually learnt from being a dickhead and infects others with being a dickhead who others wouldn’t have been (or at least as much as otherwise) a dickhead.

JAC will bring a certain brashness I hope we earn. I think we’ve really missed this in years gone past.

Plus, if he does face some injuries that’s then the perfect opportunity for a young gun to get a few games if they’ve earned it. I’d rather them needing to push into the side then get an opp as there isn’t much competition.

IF that’s the backline we trot out then geez it’s speed we’ve not seen at Parra In forever!

Ryles vision appears to be extremely transparent in being based upon resiliency in defence and speed around the park. I think he is definitely looking forward in where the game is headed.

So excited.

We (MON etc) are seemingly acting on strict instructions from Ryles and re-building the squad. Based on that, then the previous squad was entirely the product of BA’s vision*.

However if you read across these pages, merkins want the heads of MON the R&R committee and the CEO for the debacle that was our 23/24 rosters.

So what is it ? Merkins seem to scapegoat without having any real intimate knowledge of what is actually happening at the club.

* This makes the most sense to me.
Pretty cool that Brad Arthur built a team that supposedly should've won grand finals.

The Nickelback of the 90s.
Eddie vs Chad? Hmmm, I call it a tie, both a bit tedious.
I tuned out after ‘Ten’. Did I miss anything?
Of that era, Collective Soul were probably better (and aged better) with less cred and hype.

I find it ironic those within the club now are happy to smash BA and blame everything on him for all these recruitment issues which most of us identified this 12-18 months ago continuously on this forum.to cover there collective arses on the stuffs up that have been made.

Because if that's the case they deserve a rocket as much for giving a dope like BA so much reign and control.
How much control should they be giving Ryles then?

Lied to his previous club about the circumstances around his drug driving charge, sacked less than two weeks, still denying that he took the drugs and doesn't know how they got in his system.....

On top of Koori Knockout issues the previous year that saw him being shopped around and questioning his desire to play rugby league.

Rumours suggest we won a "bidding war" for him.

Sounds like a typical Paramatta Eels signing move just to make out we have signed more than fringe first graders and promising youngsters....

Side note I am VERY excited with what JAC adds to our backline. I just am so flaccid over Brailey at 9 if that's who we go with. I really wish for a more reliable 9...
Brailey is very reliable when on the field. It’s his injuries that are the problem.

We need a smart decision maker at dummy half with good service and defence and that’s what he provides.

Maybe his injuries are behind him ? FMD he's lost some games but. He's no spring chicken now.
