That was back in the days when I didn’t mind Souffs that much.
They were just the whipping boys of the comp and were mostly a laughing stock.

It was when Crowe and Co took over that I began to dislike them quite a bit. George Piggins especially was embarrassing. Such a bitter old merkin.

Rather than throwing this in the mental health forum I thought I’d again ask a favour of you legends this Christmas right here.

It reminded me yesterday chatting with a good mate who is really struggling just how shit a time of year this is to so many people.

Please, reach out to your circle and be vulnerable, ask them how they are doing and what are they doing over the break. Let’s make sure no one is alone. Lots of blokes spend time without kids etc.

We clash all the time on here in god fun but I’m certain we all align on the issue of looking after those who might need a mate.

What are you doing this Christmas?

Thanks for asking I am pretty good mate! Worked really hard to stop and smell the roses and I’m honestly a lucky fella with 2 little kids who are my best mates (along with my wife) so I am very lucky!

Very conscious it’s a weird time of year for many and I’m genuinely up for a chat if someone is keen.

Just want everyone and families to get through Xmas and hopefully be good.

We have a level of luck simply by living here we can’t begin to measure.

Geographically we probably don’t need Souths but the Roosters and Rabbits rivalry is highly enjoyable and good for the game^.
Without both Manly and North’s there would literally be no team representing the Northern Beaches *and* the entire zone between North Sydney and the central coast, including part of the hills (Pennant Hills etc) and the north west, where AFL has made inroads. That would be lot of real estate with no team. It’s a small loss not having a North Sydney based team but not exactly damaging, as would be the case not having Manly as well.
So yeah, I hate seeing Manly succeed but we need them. Sadly we don’t beat them often enough.

^When us and the Dogs are firing it’s as good, if not better, for the game.
