The Tigers have also recruited well. That's what you should expect from a team that challenged for the spoon. It's not like the club has suddenly decided to recruit well instead of poorly. We cleared a f**kload of cap space by arseholing three senior members of the team.

Do you honestly believe we would have arseholed those three senior members if BA was still here? I sure as shit don’t. These decisions were the catalyst for the recruitment drive, so I’d absolutely say the club has “suddenly decided to recruit well”.

Don't get the hate. He is a centre. I personally feel this is the only position that is dictated solely on the rest of team. Unlike other position where you can still influence the game if your sides playing bad. A centre I mean what can he do?
I think I learnt this in 2022 after David Vaeleki looked like half the player he was the year prior.
Will was terrible in 2024 but so was the whole side. He still broke 79 tackles and was our highest tackle breakers. He ended up 10/ 34 centres in tackle breaks which is very good considering how rubbish we where.
He needs more early ball and a bit of space. One on one he steam rolls guys.

Yeah centres are basically the fall guys for overall poor defence, but also nowadays good ones are also the defensive coordinators on their sides of field

Whilst he replaced them all with guys of similar or higher level he also spent a lot more doing so.

The other thing is was he off contract the end of 2025? If so Parras offer may of been more then the Dogs wanted to pay. We don't know the finer details.

Ryles put Joash immediately into top 30 so obviously has plans for him in NRL otherwise be T & T or Dev squad.

They got it wrong, not 5'6, actually 4'6.

We arseholed plenty of merkins after 2018. Hayne, Norman, French, Vave and Williams all left the club, and Mannah was banished to reserve grade. We didn't need to change the coach for all that.

On the other hand, I'd say none of those merkins 'bought in' (except perhaps Mannah) and were easy to axe. Gutherson, RCG and Sivo were probably loyal to the coach and therefore he was probably loyal to them. So getting them to agree to break contract might've been harder if he was still coach. But as for how well we've recruited, don't forget Lomax was signed while Arthur was still coach. Otherwise, we've swapped Gutherson, RCG, Sivo and Talagi for Iongi, Williams, JAC and Papalii. Have we really improved the squad? We've gained some speed but lost a lot of experience.
