Lomax must have so badly wanted out of St George and away from Flanagan he took less money this year to come play for us.

I don't know weather he is actually stupid or we have finally got lucky.
The same St George fan who reckons he's in the know and "guarantees" Our Eels are paying $450k of Guthos contract this year, reckons Lomax was a real trouble maker and they were glad to be rid of him. Obviously the guy is a peanut. 😁

I was told a few years ago Lomax was a bit of trouble with attitude problems from a dragons fan that i worked with at my old job.

But that could have just been his biased opinion and didn't expand on his reasons in terms of off-field just pointed to some things that happened on the field where he would abuse team mates when he was at fault but this was like 12 months before we signed him he told me this.

I guess we will find out

One positive is we have got him for a decent deal from our perspective and there isn't a PO for him to milk the club for money.

Poor old Sivo. I honestly wanted him gone so bad and he helped free up space for genuine wing threats.
Imagine being resigned to him being our winger all year then he blows a knee and we carry him on the cap all year.
We got lucky there.
I thought it was a great piece of Roster Management from Ryles.

Sivo is 32 this year in October and his best footy is behind him. Its a shame he has got injured.

But we can be thankful some bellend coach was happy to take him off our books.

And look who Ryles replaced him with.

A faster more energetic & quality winger in the Fox with a point to prove on probably less money then what we were paying Sivo.

Lomax has been coached in first grade by noted supercoaches Paul McGregor, Dean Young, Anthony Griffin and Ryan Carr. Is it any coincidence the first year Flanagan was there he had his best year by miles? Shame for Dragons they obviously hated each other.

Isn't that what Talagi did and what Brown is doing now?

The problem is more around the dates of when these things occur.

The not taking up of the option occurs months after clubs are allowed to legally negotiate with others who will be off contract.
Many sports have the option exercise date (for club or player) set prior to the date off contract players can be approached. Kind of makes sense that way.

Having to wait months means missing out on the best off-contract players, and potentially letting ones own development players go.
This kind of PO makes sense in very few scenarios (to me at least)

Look how well Moses went when he got away from Ivan Cleary ffs
Ivan Cleary's success really burns you doesn't it.

Is it because you didn't rate him and he has made you look like a bit of fool by not rating him.

I have him about on par with Bellamy when it comes to modern day greats of coaching and he has proven he can coach at different organisations.

Bellamy has had the cushion of being in Melbourne out of mind for 20+ years.

If you like reading you get his book and see what Ivan has done to transform himself as a coach and as a person you would be inspired.

He donated his kidney to save his brother's life while he was coaching the Tigers.

Truly inspirational Ivan the Great.

Changing the tone a bit, here Jordan Mailata miked up , blocking for Saquon then laughing as he breaks cover and scores. They loved his Aussie saying “ go son go” and said how can someone that big run so fast . 6’8”” and 140kgs, someone said I need a 68 shirt like yesterday , at least he was having some fun.

He can laugh given he’s earning 50% more than the total salary cap per NRL club per annum.

He's also one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL - a position that many people argue is one of the hardest positions to learn to play properly, because you need to learn blitz patterns, block zones, recognise play calls, and much, much more.

It is generally said that offensive linemen have the highest IQ's on an NFL team.

I'm so happy for Jordan - he's killing it over there.
