Should have kept the AFL Merkin.
More trampolines please.
Should have kept the AFL Merkin.
That's right, it is at a higher price. That's because a contract with POs is worth more than one without. So if Drown is going to give up his current deal with player options he will want more money to compensate. The same way he gave up money when he agreed to them in the first place.Bullshit, of course we are!!! We are trying to take the POs out of the contract so its a brand new contract at probably a higher price! The old contract becomes null and void.
Like I said, if he wants more money to give up the POs he must have given up money when he agreed to them in the first place. Player options cost the player money. Club options cost the club money.Simple, he is looking to renegotiate his contract at a much higher price without the POs.
His agent will go to the club and say 'Look Dyl has been offered $1.2m by X Club for 3 years and will sign a new contract at that price to stay.'
Ryles will say 'That's alright, off you go at end of the year, we now have other plans at a much cheaper price.'
At which time agent will say, 'Wwhat......I was only bluffing.'
JR 'OK, we'll get a new contract to you, 3 years starting at $700k increasing by $100k each year.'
Agent, dejected. 'Dyl will exercise his PO in his current contract.'
JR walks away smirking.
You areWhat we hate is the constant argument with pousters (posters) to have the final word no matter what. Argument for argument sake is boring, stupid and juvenile.
You don't know how much he's on.Wow $900k for Dilbo is the cheap version?
Yep, if he activates the option it extends the contract by three years. So he would be on the market again in November 2027, with him here until at least the end of ‘28.It’s not a year away. It’s at the end of 2027. That’s it. This every year in his contract is bullshit and reported incorrectly.
ffsI actually wonder if these journos are actually dumb enough to not understand how these POs work or if they do but are just throwing out misunderstandings to rile up the fans.
Was it 2 options or 3? If it is 2 then I had it wrong earlier and you are right, Nov 2027 not Nov 2026.Yep, if he activates the option it extends the contract by three years. So he would be on the market again in November 2027, with him here until at least the end of ‘28.
We’ve made four grand finals in the past forty years, for one win. It’s below average but not the worst in the comp. And in the past five years we’ve been above average, for both wins (highly granular) and grand final appearances (much less granular). Five years is a very small sample in the context of a sporting organisation, but we might’ve turned a corner under the current regime. Or we might’ve just reached the crest of a wave and are now on our way back down. It’s very exciting.Nobody has ever seriously called us that.
I’m just going off a very large sample of data. Forty years worth, in fact.he sounds like he knows whats going on......
I never said we are small or tinpot. Over a large sample of years we are about average, with some good years and some bad. Compare that with the likes of Melbourne, Easts and even the Broncos. Those are well resourced clubs. We lack resources as a football club is a genuine piss take to win an argument on here.
So why can't posters respond by taking the piss out of those comments.
And does anyone on here seriously believe were a small tin pot club i think the answer is a firm NO.
Plant and equipment? We are talking about footy clubs ffs. Even geography is a resource. Tractors and office space can all just be hired with money. Inherent resources include intangibles that can’t be bought, like ownership/governance structure, state owned/provided facilities, benefactors and other wealthy hangers on. Even a huge fanbase, which is one resource we are rich in, but whose importance is overrated by Eels fans. Most of those would fall under "personnel" or "operations" under the common understanding of those things.
The labelling of them as resources detracts from a more common understanding of resources being more like revenue, plant and equipment.
The original discourse on resources seemed (to my reading) more along that common parlance. And my observation is that the majority of posters keep using it in that fashion.
The training staffs job is to prepare the players how the coach wants to play. I think the players body shape was a result of the style of game BA wanted to play and the training staff he chose to get them like that.Players fitness and body composition isn't the coaches job
The official announcement was unclear, other than that 2026 and beyond were optional: https://www.parraeels.com.au/news/2022/12/19/dylan-brown-re-signs-with-eels/Was it 2 options or 3? If it is 2 then I had it wrong earlier and you are right, Nov 2027 not Nov 2026.
