What if they end up grabbing Brown? 1/2 credit?Well I guess Hooper claiming MM was going to the Roosters is dead and buried…next

I don't think the club will see Brown moving on as particularly bad news given his asking price. I'd rather spend the $1m on 2 good players (probably from Penrith) who are on the up.Obviously great news. New coach and Captain tied down to lead us into the next chapter of the clubs history.
Might be a little cynical of me but anyone else get the vibe this might be the club dropping some good news before some inevitable bad news?
I’m just happy he has signed and we can build around him. He is in his absolute prime and if he can stay fit, anything is possible.Given this happened so quickly and not bothering to test his value, you'd have to think we're paying in the vicinity of $1.5m a year for at least some of those seasons.
Maybe $7m over 5 years?
Regardless of what he is being offered management aren’t exactly going to be jumping for joy that he is leaving.I don't think the club will see Brown moving on as particularly bad news given his asking price. I'd rather spend the $1m on 2 good players (probably from Penrith) who are on the up.
Suck shit to that dumb merkinWell I guess Hooper claiming MM was going to the Roosters is dead and buried…next
Ezra Mam? (Only half joking)Dylbags has his flaws for sure but it still won’t be easy trying to find someone who is at his level to replace him.
If the club was moving away from them we would be offering Drown an upgrade. Instead we are happy to keep him on his existing contract that has another PO in three years. It’s Drown (and Moses) who want to move away from POs. They want more money instead.Brown is doing what the PO allows him to do...
That's why the club is moving away from them
Yeh I think the point is that you can buy an NRL-competentn 5/8th for quite a bit less than what Dylan is on (or get lucky and develop one), and spend any money saved at hooker, and if needed a fullback (either the one we've got or someone else)Regardless of what he is being offered management aren’t exactly going to be jumping for joy that he is leaving.
I think they are 100% doing the right thing not raising their offer btw. Doesn’t mean it won’t suck that he goes.

I was mightly impressed with Twidle. Gazzas "One to Watch".I agree. I don't think he is anything great but good enough.
Who knows Lyn may come good
Is it really bad news if Dylan pisses offObviously great news. New coach and Captain tied down to lead us into the next chapter of the clubs history.

Destabilising our club is good for business.================
The race to sign Parramatta Eels half Dylan Brown has exploded with reports two NRL clubs have tabled monster $13 million offers.
According to CODE Sports, a second unnamed club had joined the Newcastle Knights in offering Brown a 10-year deal worth $1.3m per season — yet the new club has threatened to pull its offer if it is publicly named.
=================
So the media is happy to leak everything about our club, but will protect this club ?
How do you know we're not? Mitch Moses could become the highest paid 35 year old in the history of the game.Yep agreed glad our club is now not bowing down to moronic player managers.
Given how good he was at 20, it was a reasonable prediction that he would be elite within a couple of years. Was he when he left the storm?
Offering him more money is the same as if he had activated the option. It's the opposite of removing it.I think our negotiations with Moses and offering him more money to remove player options under the new coach show who they truly see as a key part of the future.
Not offering Brown more money means we are happy for him to activate the first option and keep the second. The club under Ryles has refused to do this with Brown. My gut tells me he isn’t rated as much as the last coach did.
