The whole thing stinks to me.Everythings fine for the off-season and All this comes out after contract upgrade is sorted a week before season kicks off.

I call bullshit.
Who would know his physical condition better than the club that currently employs him and helps with rehab?
Better question is how it got to this and if it could have been avoided with a different recovery pathway.

I’d like rules that encourage expansive or risky play and the ability to win the ball back.
The solution here is to reduce the penalty for a knock on. Instead of an automatic turnover, how about just play on, and if the offending team is able to recover it, they get a (slow, with the defence fully set) play-the-ball with no tackle count restart.

It would encourage risk taking. I think I’d get frustrated with what might appear to be sloppy play.
The game shouldn’t stand still but it’s actually a pretty good spectacle compared to the Storm wrestlemania days. But maybe not quite as good as the ‘97 style play. The Newcastle-Manly GF was a (not necessarily ‘the’ high point of the game.
Our run in ‘09 was also great to watch, not just because it was us.
Parra-Tigers semi in ‘09 was epic.
What would encourage the style of play across the league? Not sure…

do you really think he was able to self diagnose the problem back then before he re-signed ?

pretty clever bloke if he did
Of course he would know if something is wrong....he probably held off getting a diagnosis until he signed his contract and before it became public knowledge

Don't be so naive.....we've been played

there is a big difference beyween knowing something may have been wrong, if in fact that was the case, and knowing what the full diagnosis is, but carry on with you conspiracy theory

The only massive difference is that a diagnosis can be wrong, but knowing yourself that your body isn't coping with the rigours of physical activity like it used to is never wrong....

The tigers never made the semis in 09. We played the tigers in the regular season.

E Sanders pi**ed on his chips he could off been our starting no7 for 2025 But he's what no3 at canbrra . He could off had browns spot next year But after todays showing i don't think many will be knocking down browns door, We will be stuck with him now

Yes He took the chance at the Raiders played in CUP yesterday may have to watch how he went..

We have some good kids coming through that can do better at 5/8 when Brown leaves

I don’t think he was the problem. But it’s a big ask to expect Volkman to take charge.
Brown is not a leader, not a game manager or clutch player, which is why I’ve said previously he is not worth throwing big bucks and long term deals at.

Nic idea. Probably mine originally.
Funnily enough that would be way more like how thing were for 80 years of the game because if you knocked on it was a scrum with a 40% (?) chance of getting the ball back.

Are you saying the Knights will withdraw the offer because he had a poor game? The offer is there - he just needs to sign it or reject it - which he won't.

I think we should all bunker down and stay friends this year.
Dont go to bed angry.
Sure say something merkiny in the heat of the moment but then hug it out before bed.

Why would they? They clearly have plans in place. The only reason they would withdraw it would be if they give him a deadline and he doesn't sign, or his management try to change the terms.

I'm curious to know, by letting both RCG and Gutho go a year early, who did this actually enable us to sign for this year?

It certainly wasn't 400+ NRL games and any Leadership.
