My personal opinion is that we should be aiming for a current, quality 6. We have juniors coming through and a 2-3 year deal for a quality 6 is my preference.

Galvin is at the top of my list but I’d want him for 26 not 27. I doubt Shane Richardson will budge on an early get out clause.

The only exception for inexperience would probable if over the next 2-3weeks Fletcher Sharpe continues to show plenty I’d consider a player swap to get cracking in him now and use the spare money to lock down some key players.

After Galvin who is it… Katoa, Wishart (I like him cause I think he’s a 600ish player and could slip into hooker if Lynn etc develops), Weekes, Burton (who might be good next to a proper 7).

Using the rest of our money for an elite prop (Spencer L from Chooks keeps being mentioned at homesick). Ideally a prop and an ELITE backrower.

When you look at the big picture, he had an incredibly good deal with us. Yet the moment he got the chance, despite us backing him through two scandals—one of which made him a convicted criminal—he bailed.

Make no mistake, I’m glad he turned out to be a spoiled, entitled, and disloyal space cadet. He was never the future, and I’m certain Ryles saw it the second he arrived, which is why he didn’t even bother entertaining a bidding war with his management.
Lettuce be cereal we only backed him because we think he’s a good player. What would we have gained by sacking him? Another nrl club picking him up. Also he was offered the richest NRL deal in history. Would you have turned that down for loyalty?

Looking back, what did we actually gain by having him in the team? Nothing. He’s a dickhead, plain and simple. Plenty of clubs would’ve sacked him outright. Sexual touching isn’t some minor issue.

He’s always been a pathetic, weak-minded pissant, and in all my years supporting this team—aside from maybe Corey Norman—I’ve never been happier to see someone go.

Fletcher Sharpe will be a better player then Brown but he is signed to 2028.

You can get away with more if you’re a good player. It’s just how the world works. It’s pretty clear we were building the team around but him Newcastle came in with an offer that was too good to refuse. I’m not even mad that he’s gone. I’d be going hard after Galvin who I think will end up as the better player anyway.
