I think a Gus type “truth / assurance” should be called a guth (pronounce gooth).

Agreed. He should accept his situation. He isn’t going to be the eels equivalent of Politis or Gould or the like. It’d be nice if he went back to doing it. Why does he need to be on the board to help the club?
thanks for the tip. What a great podcast. I’m shocked at how well Carney speaks and interviews. And how nice is it to listen to a rugby league podcast that isn’t all betting or grown men acting like idiots.Every parra fan should listen to this
i think that might be exactly what happened.Imagine the Dogs were just making their offer to get us to overpay and now they’re stuck with him!
Would love both Preston and Curran StevieI’d be flagging now like someone said earlier about Dogs players we want.
Maybe it’s an interest in:
Preston
Xerri
Mayybe Curran.
In that order? I’d grab the first two with open arms.
Preston would be worth $700 to $750k I reckon. Curran probably $550 to $600k. Xerri about the same as Curran probably.Would love both Preston and Curran Stevie
I cant stand that Andrew Webster but he has nailed Gus here. With these quotes when there is a big decision made at clubs he is at like sacking coaches he claims he has nothing to do with it.
Nah mate. Gus assured us all that it wouldn't cause a problem for them.
I wouldn’t want Galvin now. Too much drama around him.Why hasn't Galvin been made official at the Bulldogs yet? Now I'm getting worried that we might have signed him. (or wouldn't it be just the best if Moses has shafted the Dogs as well and he ends up at the Roosters).
No, of course not. I was only joking. The Bulldogs have made their bed but I bet the Galvin camp is more than a little nervous. Gus has not done the boy any favours either imo.I wouldn’t want Galvin now. Too much drama around him.
I have fond memories of his tenure but I think he really screwed up by signing Hagan and ultimately I think it was a factor in his downfall. That decision set us back a very long time.
I don’t. No way would clubs make offers to players they didn’t want. The reputational costs/risks far outweigh the benefits. The idea is a fantasy.i think that might be exactly what happened.

Nobody’s been ‘shafted’ unless they overpay for him. Missing out on a signing (or retention) is easy to overcome. Covering for overpaid players can last years. Why hasn't Galvin been made official at the Bulldogs yet? Now I'm getting worried that we might have signed him. (or wouldn't it be just the best if Moses has shafted the Dogs as well and he ends up at the Roosters).
How wealthy is Roy Spagnolo? How much dosh?
Give me the truth not the gooth.
Because whenever he shakes my hand I lose a fingerwhy don't you ask him merkin? ...
