Billy apologised this morning

Its basically exposed what i already thought of him.

A niggling turd who has never changed and don't let the media role he has at 9 think he has changed.

He maybe a great analyst and was a great player but he has reinforced the past 2 years he doesn't have the temperament to be a club coach for 24 weeks.

Fancy letting Sharon Woods get under your skin.

Maybe this is the last roll of the dice to get QLD in a state of mind they need to be rabid dogs up against the world.

But if they lose tonight Billy has basically burnt his coaching career to a crisp.
I think he’s one of the most overrated blokes to play the game, had a knack for cracking under pressure. The World Cup he served to NZ is the most famous example but he went close to handing us a premiership in 09 as well if not for a bullshit ref call.

Last year we used 31 players in First Grade. Of those 31 we have turned over/released/lost 14 of them with at least another 3-4 that will leave at the end of this year. That is a pretty significant roster turnover in anyones language.
Probably only 2 we would have liked to have kept in hindsight (Sanders and Talagi).
Didn’t Jim and the chairman say we had a premiership quality side, or words to that effect, when we signed JR?
Perhaps someone somewhere should ask Jim why we’d need to turn over a premiership quality squad.

Samuel Polley from our Harold Matts side

Probably our best forward prospect, comparisons to cam murray
Has the TCT touched him with their overrated views yet? If not he might have a chance of success. Those blokes are career killers. Everything they touch they destroy. Poor Jake Arthur never stood a chance since they said he ran really well and just finished behind Gutho in a running race.

"We won’t rest now. We think there’s a lot of appeal to our roster. We think there’s a lot of appeal for our club, in terms of our scale, our size, our resources that we can provide to support the coach."

Parramatta officials are confident the current squad is capable of winning an NRL premiership as they commence the search for a new head coach who can deliver immediate results.

We had a premiership winning squad apparently, first thing JR does when he gets here is (rightly IMO) start to blow it up.

further proof the idiots in charge haven’t got a clue.

Yep as I just posted 2 articles and quotes the day we sacked BA.

Sarantinos and the previous chairman thought we had a quality roster capable of winning the premiership.

Its completely laughable now especially that Ryles has come in and looked straight away and went we are nowhere it while basically torching the roster and rightly so.

Any update on Shaun lane moving into a welfare position at the club which would benefit many of our young players? Roughly $50 k a month is being chewed up in cap space and I'm sure we could use it on someone else, avenger rightly asked the question on tct but they clearly didn't like it and brushed it off
I remember the days when promising a player a post career job with the club to get them off the cap would get your CEO deregistered and the club fined $1.5M.

The NRL doesnt just make shit up as they go do they? Surely no?

The constant in the clusterf**k is the recruitment team, even the Roosters who play us off a break , saw an opportunity to improve in that area and swooped on the Raiders recruitment guru. We are so passive when things need to change to probably improve an important area.

More of the same means more of the same, the only tick is the current coach seeming to have influence, see if that helps.

Wasn't that a hilarious exchange.

Avenger asked some pretty fair questions and 60s didn't appreciate it, back peddled & dodged it like a Darius Boyd attempted tackle in 2020.

Like as you say everyone wants to tiptoe around the Shaun Lane issue for obvious reasons but its now starting to take the piss someone can earn full salary and not actually turn up for work to fulfill there duties when its been over 2 months now.

You would hope that some tough conversations would have been had by now in regards to a plan moving forward.

Keeping the status quo is just hurting the club.

And ain't we all about club first mentality these days.

I called for us to chase that Storm bloke Paul Bunn 6 months ago.

Off-contract one of the best in the business lets go grab him.

Surely finances ain't an issue here our CEO & Board keep sprouting we have every resource available and want to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of excellence.

How about going out being ruthless and grab the best recruitment spotter in the game with an offer he can't refuse.

Gee the comments on Lane's situation with zero knowledge on what is actually occurring....

Just like the Angus Crichton matter, when he spoke it, it showed just how serious his health situation was.

I couldn't care less what what affect Lanes situation is having on our cap etc!!

I just hope he is ok and getting the best help and support possible from the the eels. Lanes health is the more important than anything else!
