Gee the comments on Lane's situation with zero knowledge on what is actually occurring....

Just like the Angus Crichton matter, when he spoke it, it showed just how serious his health situation was.

I couldn't care less what what affect Lanes situation is having on our cap etc!!

I just hope he is ok and getting the best help and support possible from the the eels. Lanes health is the more important than anything else!
Our obligation to his health is not in question.

Wasn't that a hilarious exchange.

Avenger asked some pretty fair questions and 60s didn't appreciate it, back peddled & dodged it like a Darius Boyd attempted tackle in 2020.

Like as you say everyone wants to tiptoe around the Shaun Lane issue for obvious reasons but its now starting to take the piss someone can earn full salary and not actually turn up for work to fulfill there duties when its been over 2 months now.

You would hope that some tough conversations would have been had by now in regards to a plan moving forward.

Keeping the status quo is just hurting the club.

And ain't we all about club first mentality these days.
And I’ve continued to ask some more. My main point is that there appears to be great change in pathways however aggressive recruitment is required to assist the process. MON however appears to keep avoiding any type of scrutiny and has survived like a nuclear cockroach.

Sarantinos loyalty to MON unless he forces change will be his legacy more then the COE being built under his watch.

If we stuff up the next 12-18 months with recruitment then he should follow MON out the door for overseeing a HOF who is failing at his job.

He & the board took too long to get rid of Arthur they can't make the same mistake here.

We can't get this period wrong its simply not acceptable.

Perth coming in is going to make things more challenging as there is 10-11 million more dollars available for the players to chase so market is going up but as far as i am aware the salary cap stays the same.

I truly believe we have the right coach to take us forward but he is one part of the puzzle the others around have to lift there games.

I made the comment that if our current recruitment process continues we will be like padding a boat with one oar, going round in circles until we understand that the position needs upskilling to change direction.

How can the Roosters snatch the recruitment specialist from the Raiders ( given their results) and we retain the status quo, particularly given the results of the last 5 years across the whole spectrum of retention, contract lengths, wages and options. Sometimes it’s not how hard you are perceived to work, but how smart you are and your results.

We have an arrogant condescending CEO. The admin clerk, has never kicked a ball in His life. It doesn’t surprise me we can’t attract players or half decent recruitment team when He’s so condescending and arrogant in his communication.

The fact that Parra leagues had to muzzle both of those podcasts with a sponsorship shows how they want to stay in control of the narrative.

the facts don’t lie Jim, we are coming last under your management skills.

Jim is the ANTIGOULD.

Has the TCT touched him with their overrated views yet? If not he might have a chance of success. Those blokes are career killers. Everything they touch they destroy. Poor Jake Arthur never stood a chance since they said he ran really well and just finished behind Gutho in a running race.
They rated Dylan Brown as well, and he is now worth $1.3M per year.

We had a premiership winning squad apparently, first thing JR does when he gets here is (rightly IMO) start to blow it up.

further proof the idiots in charge haven’t got a clue.
They knew it wasn’t a premiership roster. They were just responding to whinging fans. If they thought it was a premiership roster they would’ve kept the old coach instead of bringing one in whose job was to get rid of players.

Look at what corporate merkins do, not what they say in public. Do you really think Gould had no intention of signing Galvin? These merkins use the media to push agendas, not inform the public. They don’t give a shit what we know.

It’s not about that Pou. It’s about being able to play the media to our advantage. We can’t. Every player we try and sign/re-sign is almost always played out in the media. We either miss out or pay too much with options.

Storm and Panthers don't seem to care to much about playing the media to their advantage.

I do agree, having a presence in the media is helpful. However how many Phil Goulds are running around? They are not easily attainable.

Uncle Nick and Wobbo have undue influence and maintain relations with a number of journos, even Sticky has the media onside. Flanno doesn’t get any criticism on Radio.

Under our current crew we have no presence and little relevance other than “ what have they done” . Our HOF has the charisma of a potato so isn’t spoken to, puff pieces are sent out to try and calm the farm.

Absolute joke for possibly the biggest Sydney club.

The options are to avoid paying too much but I get your point. Some clubs don’t have to choose between those things. Serdaris pointed to why in his recent interview with TCT. He wants to improve links with the business community so players have ‘opportunities’.

Hopefully these opportunities are contingent on the players staying at our club while also not needing to count against our salary cap.

But in the absence of TPAs (the ones that benefit recruitment, not the ones that don’t), our only options are to pay the most money or offer insurance (POs).

losing Moses again because of SOO injuries Make for a good case for it to be played after the season ends I'd rather win a premership not a soo
Players are required to have a month off each year. Assuming SoO is played over 3 weeks after the GF, they would miss the start of pre-season.

Penrith may be on the verge of losing another grand final hero.

Sport Confidential understands that the management of Luke Garner – who has another year remaining on his deal with the Panthers – were given permission to have a quiet look around in recent weeks.

It is understood Parramatta were among the clubs interested in the versatile backrower but Garner looks set to move to a rival after they tabled a three-year deal for his services.

Garner has played 39 games for the Panthers over the past three seasons and was a member of the sides that won 2023 and 2024 premierships.

The 29-year-old shapes as a handy pick-up for another NRL club given his versatility – he has played second row, lock and centre in his NRL career.

Does this count as another failure by MON

What's the difference with end of season internationals?
They would have to be held after Origin, extending everyones break even further wouldn't they?
We need 20 teams ASAP so we can have 2 x 10 team conferences and limit the comp to 23 rounds per year + finals so we can fit Origin and Internationals into a 9 month window.
