Rumours and Stuff

I wonder why we have to be average though. Why can't we be a top tier club? Yes we have the juniors and the CoE and home ground and lots of other things, but I guess one thing we have never had that might be the difference maker is the backing and support of rich, powerful and influential supporters. I reckon that is the key difference (or being in a one-team town).
Current management are the reason.

I’d be the same too but the fact still remains that signing those players cost you Galvin. Price does not always equal value.

Fact? But I remember everyone bleating about Galvin trying to get out of the club three times previously? That was before we signed those players. Im not sure that word means what you think it does.
Likely multiple reasons.
I hate Gus but he’s one of top salespeople in NRL. On the other hand we have some nuffy from Tigers.
Quite likely Galvin (or associates) is getting paid more than his contract amount.
If Galvin is a peaheart, he’s more likely to go to the team with better chance at premiership at the moment.
He’s a merkin.

But his reasons for not choosing us are unlikely to be same reasons for rejecting you guys.
Fact?

Tigers dodged a massive bullet. If he too up that $1.1m a season deal, Tigers cap would have been in all sorts. I'm glad he didn't come to Parra and if anyone thinks he took a $350k a year paycut, think again

It honestly feels like us (the Fans) have a lot to watch unfold over the next 6 months and most like me are cautiously excited but mostly nervous of another crap period. I rate Ryles and can only hope we give him a decent side for next seasons.

Ryles will have a crack, just like that coaches in the past. He has the benefit of some good juniors coming through, because of the investment of previous years.

He and the team have done well to create cap space, so I am excited to see what he has planned for us. At least we are not hog-tied by cap BS like back loaded contracts like Manly are with the Balkan brothers.

The club is seen as being professionally run, with a great back office and infrastructure behind it now. We are not short of cash either. No excuses other than the new coach's ethos being correct and maybe the footy gods thinking it's our turn for a few years.

We ?

He has torn the place upside down asap and built the roster

Its his side (mostly) from next year onwards. Its on him how we perform

We can all see a lot of good he has done, the trick now is growing and becoming bigger and better, meaning next year should clearly be better season than this year.

At least cash won't be a problem. Along with our juniors its up to Ryles to buy decent players to fill any gaps. Looking at the position of our lower teams from HM thru to Cup, and changes like full time coaches instigated by Ryles among other changes, I suggest most of our future players will come from within. So its up to the recruitment team to identify the young talent first before other teams do.

It'll take time but I believe we'll be successful within the next few years. With the core of the team being juniors, who have a greater sense of belonging, than a player bought in from outside. That, I believe, will drive the club to success.

Just be warned, don’t believe was have a lot a cap room for 2026 until we get players off the books. Seems likely but it’s a waiting game .

I believe you, but where has Dylan's mill and Sean Lane's half + gone? I guess TDS has taken up Lane's money.

Not sure if full time coaches in the juniors was a Ryles thing. I thought it coincided with the Hardies and more sponsors coming on board and we simply had the $$$.

Perhaps the signings and extensions of say 12 above average juniors is the reason, at an average of $150,000 over dev and back end 30 and Cup deals , that could account for $1.8 million investment in the future. A random thought.
Now I think of it, we also signed JDB, probably taking 400 at least of Dylans contract, then there was an upgrade to Moses as well. I think Joash was upgraded as well.
