Rumours and Stuff

If we remain as passive as we have been since 2021, then expect more of the same. It’s pretty bleak with the manner in which as a club we extend, sign and end up with a poor roster. Anyway, the front office seems happy and content, that’s obviously what counts.
I blame the fans who continue to attend with their blind faith, eels fans are dopes and management know that, hence no change….if people voted with their feet maybe u would see change

I reckon fans are starting to. We have had some low crowd numbers this year. And if we continue to roll out a similar side in 2026 those numbers will drop further.

Oh no did I come to the rescue!!! Better let you merkins get away with your personal attacks instead ffs
Let people get away with it? So it’s your job to ensure the club is always seen to be right?

You are a noble and selfless servant who has given his life to upholding the virtues of plod, mediocrity and underachievement - you are justly rewarded with a coterie of Pouciples to assist you in your endless and thankless sacrifice.

And people have the nerve to call you a troll…

You need to be carefull with the defamation, just take a few deep breaths and review before you click on submit, like I said life's to short to harbour that much hate.

I really shouldn't get involved in the tiff, but might I query what might possibly constitute defamation that can be proven?

Or to ask the question a different way, what are you worried about? If there are people here who believe what he is saying, then that is a fair safety net. Secondly, in what way is any opinion from this website about a player, coach, official, coach (etc) able to cause serious damage to a reputation? No offence intended, but this isn't a place for serious sharing of ideas...
Thirdly, even if 1 was false and 2 somehow proven, wouldn't the individual be liable anyway?

As you suggest, he is just sharing an (unsourced) opinion on a footy forum in a rumours thread, where the general tone (for hundreds of pages) is people slagging off opinions left and right and havubg heated arguments. I truly don't see much chance of a case of that impacting anyone outside of the forums reputation in a substative way....

Roosters even being a rich club and being able to buy whoever they want understand your juniors is how you build long term success and have junior programs everywhere.. and if you think they are paying full freight for their programs then you don't understand how to do business.
Paul Kent said that Rorters have a 5 storey block of flats or something like that on the Central Coast where they house all their juniors they poached from other clubs like some sort of gladiators school where they sleep, eat and train together 24/7/365. It's a factory built on cuckolding fertile clubs who invest in their junior catchments. Rorters catchment is barren and this is their answer.

NRL should allow clubs like Panthers, Tigers, Eels, Raiders, Knights to not have to include juniors in their salary cap, real juniors not someone purchased like a 21st century indentured slave from the rims of the Rorters empire.

To adapt Matt Taibbi's quote about Goldman Sachs, Rorters and Scum are "The NRL's most powerful investment consortiums like a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of the NRL clubs relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like talent".

Well protesting against the club gets you some pretty cushy privileges

Like the Talking Parra Plodcast.

Shitbagged Club Management for Months on there Podcast wanted fans to walk out of a game at a certain time.

There reward this year is they now get a free Pass to club events, access that some fans dont get.

And all of sudden they now have some cushy seats on the corporate side for home games.

Kim Jong Un has a similar set up. He calls it the pleasure squad.

I wonder if Dean “Bulldog” Ritchie will be sued for defamation just for sharing his opinion about our current coach, Jason Ryles?

And what about “The Mole” when he publishes a rumour?

If they’re not getting sued, then what’s the difference when I do it?

its OK to ask and I keep encouraging people to ask so we can help avoid uncomfortable situations

firstly, defamation (from google AI)

Defamation is a statement that injures a third party's reputation. The tort of defamation includes both libel (written statements) and slander (spoken statements). State common law and statutory law governs defamation actions, and each state varies in their standards for defamation and potential damages.

So as you can see the line is grey and if a victim alleges he was defamed he can take action and if he is cashed up, you have to prove otherwise and even if it lands in you favour you'll still be out of pocket. If its written, it cant be taken back, hence we have moderators who remove potential defamation as we are not legally qualified to determine what is defamation, so we err on the side of caution. Hence the caution.

You can be held accountable for your defamation, even though you are anonymous, LU members have been litigated against in the past (dont ask me to elaborate) so our attitude is we are here to not only protect LU, but you the members.

Hope this answers your question.

The difference is that we don't have the DT, or Foxes team of solicitors to back us up, so as I said above, we err on the side of caution.

You can provide as many examples as you like; it will not change our stance and when you joined LU, you ticked a little box that said you agreed to abide by our rules.

I'm happy to discuss or explain anything with you or anyone, but arguing is just a waste of your time.

What about the shit list? Surely that’s exempt.

I may be wrong, but I don't believe that is the legal definition. Also, in Australia, I believe the burden of proof is not on the defendant. The case would have to be made in the fashion I suggested previously, meeting criteria.

Again, no sweat....

Of course the word is also used in common parlance, but that is hardly anything to be concerned over!
