Rnd 1 2026 Eels Thursday 5 march...https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/s...r/news-story/8b05bacf9d5c877735f5e5e964db08cb

Pezet is expected to start in the halves for the blue and golds alongside Mitchell Moses, with the Melbourne duo that the 22-year-old couldn’t get past, Cameron Munster and Jahrome Hughes, standing in his way.

The match will also prove as the perfect litmus test to assess Parramatta’s improvement under second-year coach Jason Ryles — a former Storm assistant.

The Eels were embarrassed 56-18 by the Storm in round one last season at AAMI Park.
It’s to the point that this fixture has to be at the request of one of the clubs

You got to have a twist. Give the coaches a decision and make them think a little more. If we have ideas like this the coach becomes more important in the game.

How about if you get over the line but held up you get 3 points and have to kick off?
That would be a good one. You would have to think about crash plays.
What about if the players hand is under the grounded ball in the ingoal area that is a try. This doesn't apply to the fore arm. No need then to see if the ball touched a blade of grass.

That has to at least go back to being a 6 again. I would even consider it being a 1 point, like an NFL safety.

Bring it on, I fap the idea of being the team to break the streak, something you would always be remembered for.... worst case it shows where we are in comparison to one of the heavyweights, I just hope we put up a better fight than last year :|

I don’t think it needs to be altered any further. The product is near enough perfect.

Scorer’s kick was around during the Super League, was rubbish then. No need for it now.
I don't agree with this.
Lots of hardened fans on here said this very same thing 10 years ago (I've been on about rule changes at least that long) and actually so did NRL CEOs like Greenberg but they would now begrudgingly have to admit that, yes, it would appear that certain rule changes have made the game even better and that is reflected in the TV audience, crowd and game play. That is as true now as it was then, 10 years ago.
As I see it, it is selling the game short to think it is nearly perfect now. The fundamentals are great, but heaps of things would make it even better and would lead to bigger crowds still and more sports fans glued to the TV set.
It is also not static in that the coaches are always looking to apply dark art type tactics that wreck the game so we need to stay ahead of them.

Will the broncos still get all the home games and play the weak sides with Ai doing the draw or is Ai a friend of the broncos

By the time you’re done we will have 2 minute warnings and TV time outs :D

Another rule id change. The last set of 6 of each half gets played out regardless of time remaining. If you get the ball with 15 seconds then you still get your full set. This will stop sides from wasting time and giving away penalties on purpose knowing chewing up time is more important then tackles left to defend.

Now that, I’m not completely against.
