But you reckon a bloke who had never played first grade, and was released from his former club for discipline issues, did have TPAs?

Now I know not everything in the papers is true but leaked emails suggest we were:

Two other players who had already left the club by the time the document was created ? Maitua and Cheyse Blair ? were scheduled for payments of $25,000 and $26,000 respectively on November 1, 2013.

The problem in our team was - Lussick - Sandow - Hoppa eating up huge dollars for little reward.
Watmough is also eating up big $$ to do nothing. Imagine we had say Klemmer on the bench with watmoughs money.

Hayne was hardly a problem. Even if we where paying him 200 or 300 k overs. We where getting awesome return from it.

If we had to pay massive overs for Watmough, why do you think we wouldn't have to pay massive overs for Klemmer?

As for Hayne being on $300k overs, that's the difference between three of his team mates stinking up our defensive line on minimum wage vs three blokes worth more than double that much.

How much would he have cost without that TPA? Probably more than minimum salary.

I have no doubt he was on more than minimum wage - with or without the TPA as we were paying overs for nuffies in those years.

You obviously think we were paying him minimum and then swayed him with a juicy TPA. Do you think we are still paying TPAs for nuffies on minimum wage?

You would of had Klemmer for around same cost. One will be playing Origin while the other is sitting on sideline injured.

His contribution is less then Gower or Alvaro so it makes him a huge liability on our cap.
Sure injuries happen just like RTS. I am just saying Hayne was not a waste of cash.

I do. From a player's point of view it's all money. TPAs can determine where a player signs, all else being equal. And with zero NRL games in the year before he signed with us, he was probably on a big match payments component (free under the cap). Other clubs can obviously offer the same, but that clause is worth more where the player is most likely to play first grade, which is why it benefits weaker clubs more than stronger clubs. It's probably why Aloiai chose the Tigers.

How about in our wooden spoon years when he missed 21 games?

Difference between unlucky injuries and buying an old guy with injury concerns.
Like a car that has lots of miles on clock and broken down a lot. You would expect it to not be reliable.
A relative new car in excellent condition not so much.

Plus the only JOY we had those two years was watching moments of flashness from Hayne. He gave us if anything some Hope that we could be good. Some would say got us thru the dark days.

If we had spent his money on four or five extra first graders, those days might not have been so dark.

As for Watmough, the likelihood of injury is factored into the price. And as we know now the length of the contract was irrelevant, due to the payout clause. Plus weren't Manly still paying him last year? Watmough has been a great signing.

So if the insurers deny watmough his early termination payout, i assume he goes, f**k it im still just a broken down player for 2.5 years

Maybe we should set you up with drugs so you F$%K off....

You would have to be a complete Wanker to be able to say Watmough has been a good signing. WHAT A LEMON WE BOUGHT.

But hey you also think SK was a good coach. Maybe buy some laxatives and eat the box. It might clear up some of that shit your full of.
