To start with , all players should first and foremost be sound defensively partucularly fowards, when looking for a potential center which is supposed to be one of your teams best attacking weapons you need to look for someone with ataacking flair, not soley pick them cause they can put on a tackle or two as per 'I have no speed or attacking flair Hannay'. this bloke is well below average and there is a reason he has spent most of the year in the Young Guns. This club and its supporters are becoming to acustomed to settling for average joes.
Allow me to retort. Compared to Beau Scott - Hannay will be a gun player. You want to talk about below average? Start right there. It says alot about the market place and our recruitment. I personally would rather one of our young guys (Kelly?) step up and be the next ET/Rogers.
But in the meantime, excuse me if I am a little interested in the possiblity of a centre with some redeeming qualities. Nowhere did I say I am over the moon and plan to get a tattoo to celebrate their potential signing. We could do alot worse and since the rep players arent beating a path to our door, looks like we will just have to take a chance on guys out of favour at their present club.
We did ok out of that last year.
