I just realized, apart from Sezer we have no goalkickers in the squad??
Api's 18 from 21(85.71%) for the tigers this year was pretty handy. Who could forget that kick from the sidelines that hit the crossbar and went over.
He believes in his goal kicking ability.
I get what your saying though...we don't have a specialist.

Completely forgot about Api. He is pretty handy at GK

Api has honestly been our best signing since Scott Prince.

If he can convince Luai to come over then we may see us finally return to the top 8...of the bottom 17....then eventually 9th!

Pretty cool being an Australian right now. Well Australian Cricket Team.
If Luai played for us next year it would create a lot of competition which is a good thing unless the young fellas got the shitesters and threw a tantrum.
I've still got my heart set on Olam. Him and To'a would go alright with Tupou and Staines on their outside, Bula at the back. Mmmm

After 7 rounds, we were 5-2 and 2nd on the ladder. That included wins against Manly and a Souths side peppered with Burgii. If all the players stayed on the pitch the entire season, we would have easily made the 8. Now compare the line up in Round 24:

Look at that backline. FOURTH string fullback, a half playing out of position in the centres and a second rower on each wing. Brooks playing his second season and Moses shoved into the halves after spending time all over the backline.

Injuries cruelled our season more than the media did, but what really ruined us was the board failing to extend Potter and keep those players together.

yep 2014 💯 make the finals if not for the horrific injury run at the end of the year. We beat both grand finalists fairly convincingly

The Wests Tigers push to recruit players is becoming a personal endeavour, with coach Benji Marshall holding a second face to face meeting in as many weeks.

While it emerged last week that Marshall had travelled to Melbourne to meet with Justin Olam in an attempt to ramp up contractual proceedings there, The Sydney Morning Herald are now reporting that similar meetings have taken place with Penrith Panthers five-eighth Jarome Luai.

Looks like we may be serious?

So must Penrith, if you’re prepared to throw away one of your good ones? Typical Ivan.
Don’t think Ivan is throwing away Luai. They have offered him 850k already, not sure where you are coming from. I hope Penrith retain him, but the reality is the weak clubs like the Tigers will pay massive overs for successful players .

Jack Cole or Brad Schneider will play 6 if he leaves though at a much lower price. Luai will do what is best for him and his family.

Agree and we will do what is best for our club, not sure what the club will offer, but I’m sure it will be better than $850k ?

Sky Sports Radio reporting Charlie Staines has resigned with the club this week. If so would expect to see him back at training tomorrow
Charlie Staines will reportedly continue his tenure at the Wests Tigers.

Staines joined the Tigers in 2023 looking for an upgraded role at either fullback or on the wing, but failed to make any great strides.

He played just nine games in his first season at the joint-venture, having played 38 previous games between his 2020 debut and 2022 exit from the Penrith Panthers.

Staines, who has also played a single Test for Samoa, spent chunks of time in the NSW Cup and it seemed somewhat unlikely that he would have his one-year contract extended by the Tigers, having been well and truly jumped for the fullback spot by Jahream Bula and struggling to gain a place in the outside backs.

But that may not be the case, with Sky Sports Radio reporting that he has re-signed with the club this week, meaning he should report for training in the coming days as Benji Marshall ramps up preparations for his first season as a head coach in 2024, having taken over from Tim Sheens.
