This will be a difficult one. If he's had injuries, which was also reported on NRL360 last night, he could make a case that these have contributed towards the weight gain through no fault of his own. I can see this possibly winding up in court, much like Hasler's exit has.
I may seem to be going overboard in my support of Schuster on this. I definitely agree he's lazy and isn't worth the contract he was given, but the bottom line is Manly signed the contract with all the information about him on the table.
I'm very much a believer in a contract and that it should be adhered to by both the club and the player.
Good points Dom.
I said in a recent post about our Miller, that being over weight, especially an excess gut, is no excuse unless one has an abdominal injury, lower back injury ect that would hinder him doing ab work.
I had 2 x spinal surgeries and I was still able to do knee raises on a support thingy.
I think he's a lazy boy by nature. Love's the food but not the exercise.
I could be way off here because I don't know him but I've seen this sorta thing too many times.
It's dissapointing when I see players with a gut and no definition in the legs. Players in KOE are trying to make a career in the NRL but some don't seem to put in the extra work.
I was critical of our Josh Feledy when I said he had the above issues.
Now Josh looks more cut and looks fitter....as a result he's been playing better, scoring tries and pressing for selection.
The balls in his court if he wants to partner Olam.
