Rumours (signings, sackings & other NRL stuff)

Well there's a few on here and in other media who have given up on him already. Too much criticism for the Rookie coach.
Ciraldo was in a similar boat to Benji and had his new team chopping and changing and the knives came thick and fast. Now that the team is settled and the roster is good they look like a top 8 side.
None of us really know what efforts or extremes Benji has gone thru or what sacrifices he and his family have made.
We can only go on results and surely his disjointed baptism into NRL coaching can't be an accurate assessment of his ability to have us winning. First he needed time to assemble this team which is getting there, then the team needs to gel, that will happen imo.
He is by nature a winner so let's get on board and if the boat sinks we go for a lovely swim, we're used to that.
No he got parachuted into a position well beyond his ability and intellect.

If he was telling players what to do, they either didn’t listen him (bad) or did what he wanted (bad).

On his watch, we got another spoon, we lost key players, virtually no one has improved and his preparation for our biggest game in 3 years was to instruct the players to “throw the ball around.”

He works 9-5 and I saw the Seibs documentary and he was up at 430am and lucky to be home by 10.00. “Whatever it took” was his attitude.

And thousands of loyal and honest folk attended spoon bowl with all the good will in the world and were jipped.

And he all but laughed about it afterwards.

Of course some of players where in hysterics and why they were invited to the club functions post season, shows how lousy and tolerant we are.

Anything goes until we get the leadership we need.

Benji was Lees key appointment…he should have been the first to go last year and learn his job properly before jumping into the seat. I don’t see why we should all suffer while he’s still learning.

His coaching record so far is beyond appalling, it would be one of the worst in the history of the game.

If he was a qualified doctor, I wouldn’t let him put a Band-Aid on me.

Nice theory but what if the players were/are simply not good enough.
Jury is still out for me. I'll stop there TSP because my meds and pain levels are leading me into a fight I don't want. Instead I'll have a sleep.
Hang in there champ, I think we are ticking as many boxes that we can and time will tell if it's going to work. Nothing we can do but wait..
Cheers mate.

No flies on you, we are forever good friends.

But in the cold light of day, if putting a competitive side together and running everything properly was 100, we’d be at 38 with the wind behind us.

The club was dog paddling along a bit aimlessly after the dickheads left, but instead of throwing us a life jacket, management thew us an anchor.

Lee in particular has been a bad sport as he couldn’t accept his complete incompetence.

Anyway, as you said and as I found out this year, us members don’t count.

We seem to get in the way of snout.

Hodgo, I mean wtf.

Mate - you gotta stay upbeat until at least the 2nd round.

They’ve got my money, the dog coughed up too. So long as there’s cash to gorge their faces on, they can get on with the serious business of pretending to run a footy club.

If we can land May, I might go to members players day and ask Sully to sign my sneakers.

There was too much hope going on.

There’s a meet the players day on the 14th, I’m thinking of going.

Members only, might try to get the dog in but then I’d have to take him to work and he’d cause chaos as he steals things.

Probably try to have relations with the $26k photocopier. You know, the one that can talk to the space station before it copies anything.

a prayer

Dear Higher Being

I’ve been a joke all my life.

If you’d like to keep punishing me in this mortal life, please ensure May signs with the wests tigers tomorrow.

Plus the dog, he’s a thief. Before he spends his eternal life as a hound of tge baskervilles, make him suffer too.

Finally, please let @Nutz live pain-free without the gear that makes him tired yet restless.

Relax TSP, I shouldn't have been posting in goo gar land.
I'm just on panadol from this arvo onwards.
So.....after a good night's sleep, I'm feeling better, so I've decided to join
you in the fight.
"Sack Benji". He's too inexperienced. He lacks the ability and intellect to coach and shouldn't have gone on a mid season holiday.
Good luck on the 14th as our Wests Tigers Forum Representative and make sure to take your "members do count" placards.
Hodgo is just another one of Benji's mates with a bad coaching record. Stuff incompetent Lee.
Please answer TSP's prayers and sign May in November,
Finally, God, save TSP's dog!
Now, have I missed anything?

I've got one.
Players need to show some accountability. Oh, I might have said that a few times already. ;)

I could’ve waited a few minutes hahaha
What a puppet show.
For a minute there I though I was watching the US Federal Elections unfold. These events were very serious, no acting nor bull crapping and displaying a high level of human intelligence.
They are laughing all the way to the bank so maybe the joke is on us.

If we can get May I honestly give us a decent shout at the 8 next year. I’m actually pretty shitty we went and got Hunt now as May suits us a lot more than he does.

My guess is we’re in with a shot but dogs would be favorites. I’d be surprised if he went dragons unless they came in with stupid money.

Lodge has been linked with a potential switch to the Dragons, who are desperate for middle forwards, and confirmed he will be playing on in the NRL in 2025.

The Bulldogs played $1.6 million short on their salary cap in 2024 and can offer Papenhuyzen a monster deal that would trump the current Storm offer.

I thought you had to spend your entire cap money per season.

You can carry over a % to the following year. You have to spend 97% I think. I'll see if I can find the ref. We actually did it all few years ago to get out of cap squeeze.

Clubs must spend also 97.5% of their cap and have 24 top 30 players signed by 5 pm on November 1. On the Monday prior to round 1of the NRL, clubs must have 28 top 30 players signed and by the June 30 mid-season transfer cut-off, their squad has to be full.

So, the Dogs should have all their points taken off them?
Which means of course, we didn't win the spoon hahaha
