Realistically the wraps that were on Galvin were over the top, he did some good things but he was pretty bloody ordinary a lot of the times also.In fairness he wasn't ready for first grade and at times he didn't deserve selection, which wasn't his fault. In the future, once he irons out the flaws in his game he will most likely be a handy footballer. However, unless he himself doesn't learn some humility and to take some accountability for his actions I doubt he will ever live up to the wraps, as clubs and team mates won't tolerate it as we have witnessed this week.

Let's not forget Richo. If Lee/Pascoe was running the club today, this week (and this season) would have been an absolute disaster. Leadership at the top absolutely matters.
Yea I’ve thought about that..Pascoe and Lee would have been stumbling no question.

Although without Pascoe there’s no Benji. And without Benji there’s prob no Luai or May..and then possibly no Turuva …Then again I’ve an inkling Richo pushed Luai across the line..

I think both Richo for the club and Luai for the team are of equal importance. To kick start a triple spoon team to top 8 is a big step and requires a leader within who sees everything, hears everything knows whats required to win and is not afraid to be disliked while creating a winning culture within the team and getting results..Luai’s that guy. And I think the players would know they need that leader and be happy to follow. I think both are of equal importance..Look at Penrith now

Talking in front of the media yesterday would have been such a balancing act.. Between telling everyone why the players aren’t happy with Galvin which is why they were there. but at the same time maybe covering up treatment of Galvin that could have at times resembled bullying, but was completely deserved..

That setting alone would be too much for most players. Non stop questions none of a friendly nature , probing trying to trip them up..Yet Luai sat there looking so comfortable, weighing up each question in his own time , so sharp with his answers. He dealt with it like a pro.. That was a blow torch of a media scrum…Yet Luai could see what was going on with each question, how much to reveal, and when to shut it down...He just seems to love that setting and he was as effective in it, as anyone I’ve seen.

What summed him up was when he was asked if he and Galvin got on before the news broke. again they were probing to see how Galvin was treated he replied like “I’m not here for that, my job is to fix the culture”. To not be side tracked in that furnace is impressive . How important is this guy to the team?

The good news for wt is Luai’s job satisfaction is prob through the roof.. at least that’s what I get from his words..in such an extreme fixit environment ..dealing with it, with apparent ease you’d think he’d be learning stuff about himself…good stuff. Just need to keep winning

Andrew Webster and Phil Rothfield revealed on their Off the Record podcast that a working group, including the RLPA, clubs, and leading player managers, is poised to make recommendations in an effort to change the way these negotiations are handled.

They can't be serious, they are part of the recommendations team?

To think I hated this guy (Luai) 12 months ago.. around that time he was sitting against the goal posts..mind you I think he’s polished up his act a bit since then..

I tossed this up yesterday. Can you see a world where, Galvin goes to Parra, if indeed that is his desired home. Dylan goes to Newcastle, and the Knights give the Tigers something.”

That “something”, according to Chammas, might be forward Kai Pearce-Paul.

Bearing in mind, that Chammas is reportedly a mouthpiece for Moses?

Is KPP managed by the grub. If he is, that's a massive no.

KPP is already off contract for next year. We don’t have to give up Galvin to get him. We would
Also still need a back up half anyway.

The only way I would be releasing him is if we get an on contract player of similar standing, preferably with parra subsidising their contract

If RL is a business, clubs have the “C” CEO, CFO and other senior managers with typical business management titles.

Why do the guys with the title of coach, have managers?
I’ve never had a manager, I’ve applied for a job, I’ve been interviewed and got the job. I’ve resigned, been retrenched and no manager got a % of my pay.

I don’t understand it, you posters are far smarter than I, what do I not understand?

And those blokes are older with a fair amount of experience behind them and know the game inside out. You'd think they'd be able to negotiate themselves.

They've been placed in charge of a $12million cap. Surely they can manage their own contract which is much less. Sure, employ an expert if you're sacked and needing to negotiate your exit, but not for anything else

Discussed today on the radio pregame regarding a three way swap, Galvin - Parra, Brown - Knights and KPP - Tigers. Problem now is that after that performance why would Parra let Brown go, still got Lomax to come back in and they can genuinely start winning regular games, atm they are only 2 games out of the 8.
