The 25 year old will join the club for the remainder of 2017 and the 2018 NRL seasons.

Wests Tigers Head Coach Ivan Cleary welcomed Watene-Zelezniak to the club.

“I look forward to having Malakai as a part of our squad moving forward,” said Cleary. “Malakai offers great versatility and further strengthen the depth in our outside backs.”

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe echoed Cleary’s sentiments.

“This is a great opportunity to Malakai to further his NRL career at a new club,” said Pascoe. “He’s a great young man who I’ve had the pleasure of working with before and I’m sure he’ll fit right in here at Wests Tigers.”

Capable of playing wing, centre and fullback, Watene-Zelezniak made his NRL debut for the Penrith Panthers in Round 6 this season against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Thanks for the feedback on him. I've never seen him. It sounds good.

We need a fullback and maybe a prop if Ava is going.

We are going to be a completely different team next year and I think we will also be able to get more players over the next couple of seasons. I get the impression our cap management has improve significantly.

So do we still need a fullback?

Yeah I still dunno. I don't reckon we bought Mallin solely to play fullback, I reckon nofo will slot back there

Ideally would've been nice to keep Teddy but what can ya do

Bet tigers are kicking themselves for not keeping papa

Too many different threads, I said the same thing on the Who We Should Sign thread about the same time as you Clifferd. I wonder if Cleary sees it that way. Interesting to se the NSW Cup team if not today, next week.

So Woods has gone.

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/...with-canterbury-bulldogs-20170428-gvv21d.html

Feels no loyalty to the club, the fans, his team mates. I read some where he was complaining he was the only forward hitting the ball up hard. What a joke, firstly I didn't know he could run until last week.Second part of the joke complaining he has to work too hard for his salary.

His other complaint is while the Tigers have given him every thing they could they couldn't hand him enough finals experience so he is off just as we are facing a new era.

Now read why Reynolds is joining the Tigers

I am so grateful to Moses and Woods for leaving. They are the epitome of selfish spoiled brats that bring an attitude to the club we can do without.

I hope the likes of Woods and Moses are not a part of the Wests Tigers ever again.

We only let papa leave coz @ the time the fickle backflip merchant had given us a firm verbal undertaking he would remain.

We were chasing Dallin WZ to play fullback in '18 until Gould rapidly resigned him as he did with whare when he heard we were also linked with him.

With Ivan now @ the helm I've no doubt Gould is quite concerned about our future prospects & of the possibility we will win a premiership b4 they do.This is the senile vindictive wanka who decided Ivan needs a break from coaching & gloats about signing a lifeless mannequin as coach who couldn't get the Broncos in the 8 !!!

I understand that IC would desire to maintain team harmony while we can still make the 8 but there's never been anyone more unworthy of being our captain than this philistine ! In contrast nobody deserves the captaincy more than rowdy.
