I have been in the "Never get Moses back" crew for a long time but over the last few months, my views have somewhat softened. He has grown as a footballer on the park as well as playing tougher on it. If he really wanted to come back, I'd take him.....he is in the elite class now.

In saying that, I have serious doubts about him wanting to come back. I doubt he'll go to the Dogs either. I think he is pulling the "Munster" card with his contract dealings with Parra and trying to squeeze as much as he can. He'll stay with Parra.
The longer this drags on for the higher my hopes are that it will happen.

I thought I was on my own, I mentioned the Abbot & Costello famous gag “who’s on first”, in the World Cup thread, I didn’t get any takers, thought you were all young whipper snappers 😂
I could hardly breath from laughing so hard when I first saw that routine. I think there is a fair chance I have seen all their movies. Loved their haunted spooky stuff.

I have been cranking up the gramophone since this discussion started, sometimes falling asleep as late as 8p.m. with a rug across my lap in my favorite recliner.

Just kidding. I don't have a favorite recliner.

I put the skit on the WC thread, if you want to watch it one more time🤣
It is timeless.

Does anyone here think we are really any chance of getting Moses?

I mean, me personally, I don't want him back simply due to his carry on last time.

But would he come back if we made a play for him? I just cant see it happening.

I think we have seriously made a mistake by having all of our halves and 1s off contract at the same time.
I think Moses could change us from top 8 to top 4. We only need one other half that’s good enough, out of the rest. That would be easy enough. I think they will go all out to get Moses and hopefully he is sick of the pressure at parra and is the type of person that sees the value of money.

Sheens and Benji are not interested in a 5 or even 3 year plan. They want a Premiership next year.

Do you really think this is true?
From my perception, Sheens is prepared to sacrifice the next couple of years to ensure Benji see’s the success. The reason I say that is the appointment of Marshal as head coach would have to be at the top teir for hail mary / desperation decisions in the code’s history.
If Sheens misses the 8 for the next 2 years, yet builds a kickarse roster that peaks with a genuine marquee star half for 2025 that kickstarts Benji’s career, he will be vindicated and seen as the hero.
Sheens is all about this legacy.

Are you forgetting Benji was green-lighted by the cadre? Recommended and the quiet nod.

The deal was closed following a meeting between Sheens and Benji, after the ciraldo fiasco. That was cadre approved.

Tim was anxious to dispel any claims of nepotism and corruption after he appointed himself as coach ( or took the job).

But to enlist his best young mate for a further 3 years posed more questions than provided any relief.

This was all conducted against the best practice processes we were all promised amidst vague references to “accountability”

This was the ultimate in back room deals, no one with demonstrated coaching merit or recent ability considered.

Hundreds of thousands being stuffed into already fat wallets pumped up by spin.

It’s a disgrace.

I think it’s more the rort than legacy.

Don’t get me wrong…I thought the decision was ten levels lower than chicken shit.
That said, the way it has been structured is for Benji to succeed, not Sheens.
What Sheens gets out of it is he can assume the Gus Gould role and bathe in the glory for the remainder of his days as the architect. That’s what I mean by his legacy.
I guarantee you, by the time Benji takes the reigns, he will inherit a top 6 standard roster. Rightly or wrongly, Sheens will have built it.

Mmmm, that seems to explain why we have (glaringly obvious) spots open in the halves and at the back, but looking at the contracts, there’s still a bit of heavy lifting to do to extend the marquee well into Benjis tenure.

Madge and even the “late great “ Harto’s contribution to recruitment has already been conveniently forgotten at official levels. All but wiped from the history. Madge will of course be discredited with coaching us to spoon for his efforts.

And it’s sad to see some of the good folk here surrendering to the clubs witch doctors and their black magic Madge voodoo dolls. 1984!

To recap, I think you are expecting more marquee. I agree.

The vanity of the sheensy? Well he is a bit keen on himself. The funny thing thing is, it’s been a very modest and mostly confused and bumpy contribution so far.

The great white pommy hope in Bateman, even his visa has been f**ked up and we will be lucky to see him before our season is done and dusted by May. Plus we are paying the bastard.

“The incompetence of the club continues unabateman.”

We can build a $78m centre of excellence but no one can pick up a phone before Xmas for 5 minutes and check on his visa status….we are useless.

A complete clusterf**k.

Anyway, his body will benefit and he can suck in Tim’s plays and start a psychology degree by way of long distance education.

We all need that type of degree to work out why Ricky and the raiders ratted on him. A great mystery of the game. A book on the subject is long overdue “ spared”

top teir for hail mary / desperation decisions
Sheens is all about this legacy.
If sheens gets a sniff of the chance for big success before he leaves, he will take it. If he could get one of the best spines going around and forwards that hurt the opposition, he would start thinking about the story he could create for the club and the adulation that gos with that. As you say his legacy. Right now he has complete control and he has a great assistant with Furner. Right now Benji and Farrah complement the coaching set up perfectly, as eyes and ears and standards etc. Their roles will be very different in ‘25 and the whole dynamic won’t be as good as it is now. Just need a couple more guns, including Moses.

Agree, if Timmy wins anything, he is a WT god, if he loses, it will be said "I always thought he was past it".
But imo, he knows success is a long term deal and he wants to be seen as the father of the renaissance.

He is ego driven, basically unsackable and has the keys to the kingdom, just hope he doesn't f**k it up.

I think it’s very unlikely the other half would include AD or Brooks.. maybe between Laurie and Will smith? Simpkins? ….We’ll give the incumbents a shot but I doubt sheens will rely too much on that tag if they fail…

There’d be no better a teaching aid for Benji and Farah than a top 4 or better finish..I think they will go all out for Moses and he will agree to terms.

even shit coaches can’t get everything wrong. But 2 good recruits out of how many is hardly enough

1 All but wiped from the history. Madge will of course be discredited with coaching us to spoon for his efforts.

2 The funny thing thing is, it’s been a very modest and mostly confused and bumpy contribution so far.

3 The great white pommy hope in Bateman, even his visa has been f**ked up and we will be lucky to see him before our season is done and dusted by May. Plus we are paying the bastard.
1 And so he should be?
2 No it’s not. The shit has been cleared and thing are finally looking Rosey.
3 April is the start of the season not even close to the middle.

A complete clusterf**k.
Far from it.
