Rumours (signings, sackings & other NRL stuff)

If this happens, I wonder what their plan is? I'm sure they have one.

With him gone, I understand we should have over million to spend?

I guess Molo is on the market, but could probably use another centre, though you wouldn't think there will many around (who are any good) to make an offer to, for this season.
They better have a plan because if they don't spend 95% of the cap we are in breach and will get sanctioned. I don't like the idea of managing that by handing out bonus' at the end of the year, unless we have had a very good year. I don't like rewarding mediocrity.

Well he's in our top 30 so by August 1 he has to be replaced or someone upgraded? Makasini may come off a development contract and into the NRL squad but I'm unsure how it all works these days....like clear as mud hey.

Couple of excerpts from the article:

Exiled NRL player Taylan May’s win over domestic violence allegations

Domestic violence charges have been withdrawn against an exiled NRL player who was accused of punching his wife and telling her “I hate you” and “I wouldn’t care if I killed you” .

Police have withdrawn domestic violence charges laid against an exiled NRL player who was accused of punching his wife and telling her “I wouldn’t care if I killed you”.

The withdrawal of the domestic violence charges clears the way for him to rejoin an NRL side.

It's how he acts from here on in.
I called Kenty out years ago because of his aggressive TV style and look what happened. Kenty now has his own pod and has calmed things down a bit.
Kenty says some pretty interesting stuff and he has a broad knowledge of most sports and it's a shame his nature stuffed his career somewhat.
But as I said, it's how they act from here on in.
You know the saying, if it quacks like a duck.........

Ye, I'm not really across the case, but it seems to be a bit strange that the police have withdrawn their charges after all his time.
Is that a couple years without pay, reminds me a bit of the deBelin case.

In DV cases if the victim doesn't cooperate or withdraws the police have to, as they won't get a guilty conviction.

Some time ago you may remember the Dylan walker case? Not only did they have the victims statement, but an independent witness statement who saw the whole thing, and CCTV footage of the incident.

The victim withdrew and the police proceeded anyway, which is what I would have done if I was them. They were reprimanded in court and the case was thrown out due to lack of victim cooperation.

Not saying I agree with it, it's just the way it is. The system is farked

A bit different I think....more likely a case of either they've reconciled or she and her sister don't want any future trouble...only they know. In any case he and his manager will have accept whatever the club needs to have in place in the contract

Story goes that the woman is pregnant. Would it shock anyone here to find out that someone has sat her down and said, good luck trying to claim child support If May is locked up.

Sounds like another Tigers signing. Panthers had to sack him, now all the charges are dropped. Seems fair to me. Good luck if he signs though, Penrith have moved on and upgraded.

We need him and he needs to be with his brother at the Tigers for mental health support.

I hope this and Olam's situation is sorted out super fast.
Hopefully the Tigers will be thanking Klemmer for his service this week.

This is from a social media post so take it with a grain of salt.

Olam met with NRL medical staff on Friday and specialist reports have been submitted applying for salary cap dispensation. A medical retirement ruling would leave the Tigers with around $400,000 free in this year’s salary cap, and $600,000 in 2026.
