Anyone else not at all interested in the grand final now. I dislike both teams but would prefer the Broncos to win, It will make Bellamy and Stef cry haha

But if the Broncos win get ready for a barrage of stories against us ,
I always enjoy it, no matter who plays.
Watch big Stef finally make a statement? Bellyache has the best NRL system and as such, never misses the finals.

Last night I heard it’s the best finals series in history. . I can’t disagree. Which was the better game, the raiders or Penrith against Broncos for edge of your seat tension.. ..Or is it just that the Broncos are entertainingment city..I think with their history, they’ve got a lot more to play for than Melbourne and I really hope they win.. For Reynolds for Hunt for Staggs who I greatly admire and who deserves a ring..,Maybe even a bit for Madge . This game could lift Walsh to the pantheon of all time greats. Or thereabouts

Carrigans leadership will make all the difference

My only concern is that Hunt will do another late pass for a pat down from the opposition in the dying minute/s to deny them a match winning try.. Hunts got that in him and he’d definitely be off to the psychologist again. That would be just too much. And even worse give Stefano a premiership

A better scenario would be the Broncos winning and one of their players I don’t care who walking past Stefano and with a toffee nosed voice say “Stefano you just arnt good enough . You never were you know”

I don't understand how anyone who follows NRL could not be interested in the grand final? Even if both the teams are a bunch of merkins, still worth the watch
Exackery.
If the NRL is supposedly the best competition in the world, then the Broncos and the Storm would be the best two clubs atm. I say clubs.
The Raiders and the Sharks would not have looked out of place in the GF but something was missing.
I said last week that bellyache has to be considered as the coaching goat. His record speaks for itself. The Storm football club is bellyaches model. He gets who he wants, people who he can mould and support staff from assistant coach down to ball boys do it Craig's way. Players have no doubts in what is expected of them.
The reason, imo, that the Broncos and Storm are in the GF is because their clubs are strong, well oiled and demand success.
One club that could have challenged either of these teams would have been Penrith. They are a super club but losing too many players over recent seasons, including Scott Sorensen at the beginning of last weeks game was always going to be a tough gig for them.
My GF tip, Broncos fwds to domininate, +14

Tigers, Sea Eagles veterans could make shock player swap
By Adrian Proszenko and Dan Walsh
Updated October 8, 2025 — 3.12pmfirst published October 6, 2025 — 11.59am

League veterans Jack Bird and Nathan Brown are considering a surprise player swap.

Bird and Brown are contracted to Wests Tigers and Manly, respectively, until the end of 2026. However, the pair – who have both represented the NSW Blues – are open to an immediate switch that has the potential to benefit both parties.

The Sea Eagles have already plugged a hole in their pack with the signing of St George Illawarra prop Viliami Fifita. Fifita made four NRL appearances for the Dragons, but is going back to Manly, where he spent his formative years.

The Sea Eagles have been short on middle forwards, but the signing of Fifita, the expected re-signing of two-time premiership winning front-rower Siua Taukeiaho and the return from injury of Taniela Paseka will bolster the pack for 2026.

Manly have also signed South Sydney prop Davvy Moale from 2027, although the club is exploring the prospect of him joining immediately. That move would help free up funds for the Rabbitohs to complete the signing of enigmatic Titan David Fifita.

The arrival of Viliami Fifta and potentially Moale during the summer could give Manly the flexibility to consider Bird, who is capable of playing in the centres, halves, as an edge or middle forward, or off the bench. The Tigers have given the 30-year-old – who has made 173 NRL appearances with the Sharks, Broncos, Dragons and Tigers – permission to explore his options.

Should Bird head to the northern beaches, the Tigers could get Brown in return. Brown began his NRL career at the joint venture, making a single first-grade appearance before establishing himself as an enforcer during stints at the Rabbitohs, Eels, Roosters and Sea Eagles.

The hard-running back-rower has been a crowd favourite at Brookvale, where he is known for fearless kick-off returns. His aggression could bolster an improving Tigers pack in which Terrell May was nominated for Dally M prop of the year in his first season at the club.

There is a discrepancy between the contract value of Bird and Brown for next year, but it is not considered insurmountable. The Sea Eagles have just extended the contract of Aaron Schoupp and are working through delicate negotiations to extend the deals of Tom and Jake Trbojevic.

There is also a cloud over the Tigers’ biggest stars, with the futures of Jarome Luai and Jahream Bula unclear. Both players have options in their contracts that could make them free agents from November 1. Bula’s contract options go both ways, meaning the Tigers can retain him, should they choose, at a price of about $900,000 for 2027.

Sounds OK, I think we would use Brown's skills more so than Bird's next year?
Though I thought Brown was finished at his age, maybe he was just finished with Manly?

Both on their way out, but I’d prefer to keep Birdy where there’s a faint pulse.
Agree that both are on their way out but disagree with the faint pulse for Bird. His pulse was there at St George but there is just nothing there now this season. Late career Brown still have a big charge in him or two. If their money is similar, I'd absolutely do it. Plus, Brown plays in the position where we need more bodies....front row.

At his peak, Brown was a solid and robust enforcer. A bit of the feral pig in his game.

I knew fans who couldnt stand him, but I didn’t mind his rough house game.

I was also quire fond of JWH at full bottle. Reminded me of the golden days of forwards, although he lost the plot a few too many times. Gentle giant off the park I am reliably told by a guy who had dinner with him. Shy almost.

My beloved Terrell has a bit of the rogue in him, comes out on rare occasions.

Maybe his juju juice can help with Browns stamina.

The Storm have reportedly made a final call on the future of hulking enforcer Nelson Asofa-Solomona, releasing the prop from the final two years of his contract.

According to Code Sports, Asofa-Solomona was earning a reported $850,000 per-season and his departure opens up a significant portion of salary cap space to utilise elsewhere.

HTF does this work? It states they are releasing him from the last 2 years of his contract and he is looking at other opportunities?
