To be fair, the Warriors look like a 5th-6th team at best and a 7th-8th team otherwise...will just depend on who turns up this week

No one is really dominating completely, Roosters the best with 4 wins from last 5

Storm 3 from 5
Roosters 4 from 5
Rabbitohs 2 from 5
Dragons 1 from 5
Panthers 3 from 5
Sharks 3 from 5
Broncos 2 from 5
Warriors 2 from 5

I HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME!
(And acted on it. Thought the Dogs + 4.5 were good odds)

I'm no lush, I hate the heavy stuff, but someone gave me two bottles of red wine a few years ago. I'm opening them during the Warriors v Raiders last round clash, and come what may.

Worst case for the Warriors - Ninth place
- Lose to the Panthers, lose to the Raiders.
- Tigers beat the Sea Eagles and Rabbitohs.

The Warriors currently sit four points clear of the West Tigers and a finals spot could be secured on Thursday night if the Sea Eagles manage to beat the Tigers. On the other hand, a big win by the Tigers will put some pressure on the Auckland side. The Warriors have a points difference of 1, while the Tigers need to overcome a points difference of -44. But all it would take is two half decent wins for the Tigers, along with two big defeats for the Warriors and the spot is theirs.

Best case for the Warriors - First place
- Beat Panthers and Raiders
- Storm, Roosters, Rabbitohs, Dragons and Sharks all lose remaining games.
- Panthers beat Storm, Broncos beat Roosters but lose to Sea Eagles.

First off, this is not happening but it is possible. They only need to win their remaining two games and then 12 other results to go their way. This would see the Storm, Roosters, Rabbitohs, Panthers and Warriors all finish on 32 points and could come down to points difference.

Here's the points difference chart:
Storm +177
Roosters +161
Rabbitohs +116
Warriors +1

So the Warriors would need to put 100 points combined on their final two opponents and need three other teams to face massive defeats. A best case indeed.

The fact that first place is even mathematically possible shows how ridiculous the NRL is this year.

Genuinely laughed out loud...ONLY need to beat two teams with a combined 100 points differential and have Melbourne lose their last 2 by -77, AND have 10 of the other 12 games go our way :joy:

I know what you're saying, it just made me laugh. Definately closes comp in the last few years.

I hope the players and management look back on this year and wonder what could have been...if we were switched on for only 2 or 3 more games during the year we could have won the minor premiership..

However, onwards and upwards! There's a few teams I think we will struggle to beat in finals, but it's such a close competition that anyone can beat anyone on their day.

We really need to win these last 2 games to get a roll on...

I'm about to have the last laugh here lol. Um I didn't write ANY of the post you replied to LOL.

I copied and pasted that off an article. None of it is my words.

I just put it out there for those interested.

Haha settle down, I wasn't poking fun at you for saying something just saying that I found it funny.

But indeed it is correct, there is a mathematical possibility of it happening

Brisbane upset over Roosters complicates a 5th/6th finish.

Those two late tries from Penrith could be the difference in F/A with Brisbane. Would imagine they are more likely to run up a big score against Manly than Warriors against Canberra.

Yes. Certain losses during the season (eg Sharks, Dogs) really start to be magnified at the pointy end of the season.

Then again, how critical was that win in Canberra when we marched up the field twice and popped over 2 field goals in 2 minutes to win the game. And that was after a 76th minute try to Luke.

Yea... we need the panthers to lose (likely) and we need to beat canberra by 4 more points than the broncos beat manly.

Of course, one of the dragons/sharks could lose both their games but thats not likely.

One of the most inspiring pieces of play we've produced since the last time we made September.

Based on the weekends form so far it a Broncos vs Warriors Grand Final.

Storm an unconvincing win over GC.

Other top 8 have all lost.

Warriors Panthers game, Broncos Roosters game, were the two fastest games on the Weekend to date.

Had Penrith lifted that would have been the game of the round.

looks to me like we are getting finals intensity in our last two games in a row where other teams are a bit laissez-faire, although I would rate the Storm Titans game in third place.

Sharks came good.
Currently playing Dragons in Sydney first week of Finals.
Lots of water to pass under the bridge yet including the next game.
