Run to finals

Rabbitohs should beat the Broncos this week to open up a bit more space (possibly) between us and them. If the Tigers can then do anything close to what Parramatta did to the Dragons on the weekend, they could jump up into the top 8. With a win against the Bulldogs, we could even jump to 5th if JT and JT turn up to smash the Sharks.

So this week outside of us winning we need.

Eels beat Storm.
Knights beat Panthers.
Tigers beat Dragons.
Cowboys beat Sharks.

Catching Roosters and Rabbits near impossible with 4 point gap and only 6 points left up for grabs. I dont see them dropping 3 games.

Lol love the optimism re worrying about other results so we can potentially finish forth or near. End of the day we just need to worry about us winning games. Winning the next three would be amazing but highly unlikely. That would be a five game winning streak...would mean we go into the finals with seriously good form tho.

Start with 5 in a row, end with 5 in a row! :)

I’m just happy that the talk is about what we need to do get a home final, not what we need to do to squeak into the 8 and make up the numbers, or who we need to fire and what coaches are available for next year.
How good does it feel to be contenders again, even if we’re not heavyweights yet.

Maloney most likely put when we play Panthers rd 23.
Done a medical ligament.
Wish I could say it was a good thing, but we got cut up by Panthers without him last time.

So if we finish 4th, lose in round 1, we still get a home semi round 2... right?

Also, if we finish 4th, win in round 1 and get a week off in round 2, do we get a home game for the grand final qualifier?
Yes and yes. The first game is away, though.

Finishing 1-2 gets you 2 home finals. 3-6 gets you one, 7-8 gets you none.

Maloney most likely put when we play Panthers rd 23.

We'll be lucky to have him back for week 1. May is a capable replacement. Played finals last year, done his ACL in week 2.

I dont think we can finish 4th now anyway with the sharks beating the storm.

I'm most concerned with finishing 5th and having the face the Tigers.

Sharks will be hard too. I think we would beat the panthers, broncos and dare I say it.... Dragons in week 1.

The way he's been playing not sure he's any loss anyway? Think Luai is hurt as well, so either Peachey or May to 6? Both are very good options, the former with DWZ to fullback?

Also a chance for Cleary to assert himself - they've had a ridiculous run with injuries, yet no matter who's out they have good cover

Will finish the round in 8th with +1 F/A.

Fail to join the logjam of teams in 30 points that stretch from 4th (St George) - 6th (Cronulla). As the Penrith game would have been an essential '4 pointer'; there was every likelihood of at least a 6th placed finish due to jumping ahead of Penrith.

Now, stuck on 28 points with Brisbane. 7th/8th seems likely, resulting in 4 consecutive Finals matches played in Australia and no home final.

No chance of 4th though which sucks.

Even if we win our last 2 we might only climb as high as 7th.

I HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME!
(And acted on it. Thought the Dogs + 4.5 were good odds)

If we beat the Panthers, we should get up to 7th. Then, if we beat the Raiders, we might end up playing the Panthers again at home on week 1. All a massive 'if'

You know when there is only 4 points from 1st to 8th, it really is a weird year of footy.

Every team probably is thinking “if we had one those one or two games we were meant to, we would be clear 1st”.

Just food for thought.
