I've said this before, but I really would love to see what Gus Gould could do with our club. He'll never come to the Knights, but nonetheless, I'd love to see it.

I emailed him to ask him to come here when he was just working in the media, before he went back to Penrith 😂

he responded and said he didn’t want to go back into club land and regardless he would never leave Sydney.

on topic, we aren’t getting rid of AOB unless us fans do a whip around and somehow come up with $2m. Not that there are any coaches out there that move the needle anyway.

I don’t think it will actually help anything, but I see a scenario this year where the club and the coach mutually agree to end his term as coach. I don’t think this is necessarily his fault, but the form and speculation can’t keep going like this.

We make shit decisions

Like they extended Crossland to 2028 as the starting hooker, id love to know how much the upgrade was.

The quintessential Knights player who tries hard but isn't very good.

And now he's been demoted for Brailey who also isn't that flash and isn't here next year. Never change Knights, never change.

I doubt it. I support it, but I doubt it. We'll need to lose a lot more for the pressure to get that high. Because we don't demand excellence as a club. We make shit decisions and then hope for it.
Not even I’m convinced any more. I can’t see the club not listening to the outcry from the media and members…

I can see some sort of junior development role if he wants to hang around. Cant argue his ability to get juniors ready for first grade.

Brailey is a better 9 than Crossland, we are in trouble when Brailey leaves and Crossland is our main 9, yes he is all effort, tackles well but lacks the ability to create, Brailey isn’t great but better than Crossland who won’t ever be as good as Brailey was, let’s hope Arthur comes good

Yes someone quoted him earlier as an NZ international under AOBs guidance as some sort of proof of competency and I straight up can't be bothered arguing at that point. An effort player, sure. Has to be the worst hooker in the NRL at actually being a hooker, though.

I'm not even hating on the guy per se. He's earned a spot in the squad. He's just not a first choice hooker at a successful club is all.

Yeah, O’Brien may mutually agree with a 2 million payout. Saintly.

Seriously though, surely this will be getting discussed by the club after this game. Something has gotta give surely

I mean you would hope so. I get the feeling though they’ll bury their heads in the sand and hope we’ll just magically come good like previous seasons and they won’t have to pay him out. We’re playing a lot worse though than we were previously. We’re not even competitive!

As bad as it is we probably need to keep losing for Wests to be forced into action.

So what's the excuse today? We held onto the ball. Still played really boring and one out. He has been coach for 5 years here. We still don't have any attacking structure. What's his attacking philosophy? Still can't use Ponga. We have a better record when Ponga is injured! Damning.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here. Our team looks very fit. We are down on troops but keep competing 80 minutes every single week. We probably outscore our opponents every game in the last 10 minutes. Our team doesn't fold which is great mental fortitude.

Why doesn't he let our lads attack kicks? We got the ball twice the only 2 times Gagai challenged for the kick. Why do we always play one out? I don't understand. It might have been a great play for the might Storm 20 years ago. It's not working for us. Why stick with it for 5 plus years?

If he is responsible for our defense I really honestly applaud him. Wish he would let go of his ego and let someone else coach the attack. I hope the club makes a decision (to fire him, or to get him an ass man who can actually coach the attack) before it's too late to salvage the season.

What's the plan when Brown comes btw. If Sharpe is going to be our seven, he needs to be barking orders and directing the team around all game. He looks more like an impact 14 out there just waiting for an offload or something. Literally the opposite of a game managing seven/halfback which we need if our spine is going to have both Brown and Ponga.

Anyway, I'm not even upset today. Won't let it ruin my weekend. Saw it coming a mile away. I don't dislike AOB. I just don't want someone like him managing my club. It's not just about the results. It's about belief, passion, love of the sport, entertainment, rigor. His coaching is draining the soul out of the place.
