You’re looking at it way too small picture. It’s not so much McDermott is a bad coach, but he’s part of an overall system that’s not working. Simply removing AOB isn’t going to be the fresh start the playing group. They need totally new voices.

Outlay cap space by re-signing proven poor ROI players.

Roster is not performing to its potential (even though it’s a car with no driver and little under the hood).

Free up cap space by replacing the only star on the roster and one of the game’s elite players, removing one of the only stable elements the club has known these last years.

Sack the coach, and remove the only other stable element within the organization, and extend the misery.

I’ve been a huge Kalyn apologist for years, but if you’re going to rabbit on about “proven poor ROI players”, maybe don’t call people stupid for noticing that we’re paying $1.4m for a guy playing like he’s scared to get tackled at the moment…

The “only star on the roster” who’s being outplayed by a rookie five-eighth, who’s offering the only good thing in our attack right now by excelling at the aspects of fullback play Kalyn has steadfastly refused to ever get better at.

We'll see how everyones appetite is if this continues throughout the season. My gut tells me we'll pull out of the tailspin just in time to grant plausible deniability, just like we always do.
