To me we need to get a coach who will stand up and stop being run by Ponga's clique.
I don't think Green is a good idea but I'll 100% take him if it means ripping off the bandaid that is moving on AOB. I very much doubt he'd be there longer than a year unless he was doing well, he'd be much easier to move on.I mean AOB was about as heralded and hyped of an attacking assistant as anyone in the past decade, that was his whole appeal. Then as a head coach, the guy who the buck actually stops with, he's been this dour, conservative guy who responds to adverse situations by screaming "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" to randoms at the races, or by saying the fans don't know anything about rugby league. The dude is wound tighter than my belt at an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast and that comes out in the nervous, robotic footy you see our guys play where they're clearly second-guessing themselves constantly.
NFI if Blake would have what it takes, but at least he's in the building and people at the club deal with him every day. So they're relying on their experience with him as a bloke in their judgement of if he's got the right stuff, not on propaganda from agents or this or that assistant's good mates in the media.
Yeah we get it. I am asking if they will respond affirmatively. But feel free to go off on your own tangent.I don't know what people realistically expect for the run home? We're playing a top 4-6 side this week and missing our 3 best players, playing a 3rd string fb, trotting out Cogger voluntarily and have no bench middles. In any other sport I follow fans can understand when/why things just suck sometimes. NRL seems to always be expecting miracles and piss and moan when they don't happen.
No way it'll be Green though. I'll be here laughing with you if it is. Not even we're incompetent enough to promote our attack coach after being a historically bad attacking team... right guys?
Season was a write off 2 months ago. I don’t think miracles are what anyone expects of this mob. They’re scoring 14 points a game on average. Getting above that every week is the miracle.I don't know what people realistically expect for the run home? It'll be sad if it ends like that, but if his heart isn't in it moving forward then it's best for all parties for sure.Added twist. Strong suggestions KP is going to Rugby. Again Chammas claims. Guess we will Be after that halfback afterall. Fine by me. Fletcher is a 1 and Dylboy is a 6. All day. In anyone’s language.
I mean, if KP pulls the plug right now then that's exactly what he would be doing. Where are we going to spend $1.4m for next year?If all this is happening just get it done. I’m tired of the constant speculation and bullshit.
If Ponga wants to go, just go. Don’t do a Pearce and jump ship at the last minute giving us no chance to get a decent replacement.
I reckon a lot of players would be willing to jump ship for a big chunk of Ponga's money.I mean, if KP pulls the plug right now then that's exactly what he would be doing. Where are we going to spend $1.4m for next year?
I would play hardball with him about next season from here tbh. Needs to be something in it for us, or a genuine replacement arranged *before* he leaves.
Yeah it’d be crazy to something rash. It’s 1.4 mil. Ponga can stay til the end of 26 and can ride off him into the sunset and we can try and get a halfback and a good front rower with the 1.4.I mean, if KP pulls the plug right now then that's exactly what he would be doing.
