Sack Brown

We need a coach who can win games for us and motivate the players. He has to be capable of riding it through the rough times. Hang on...

I agree we should dump him, it's well known he cant coach. He keeps on picking the golden boy Sione  and why he continually picks Barnett is beyond me, we'll never be competitive with him in the side. He hasnt a clue how to get the best out of players like Pearce and Ponga. o_O

In the interviews he seems out of his depth and obviously our cap is now in a huge mess. He finally has the side he wanted and has done nothing with it for 13 rounds. :D:D:D

Dsaf's selection for SOO is further evidence that Brown cant coach and should be sacked. Since Brown debuted the lad in 2016 as an unknown Dsaf has obviously regressed to the stage he is now playing for his state. Not good enough !!! :p

All this along with 9 games of NRL before arriving at the Knights Ponga is now the QLD FB along with Lee getting the call up into the squad only reinforces my belief that we should be looking for a new coach.

Depressing. Surely our side is good enough to secure a top 8 position quite safely...

This is hilarious.

Considering the disruption and a few injuries through the origin period you could understand if the side dropped a bit of form.

But this is just not good enough. Five origin players , a club with a wealthy and smart ownership model, all the resources you need, a million dollar halfback and the games best young talent in Ponga, Klemmer the metre eating beast etc etc etc.

It's not too late to salvage a semi final if we have a bit of a go but we are close to the end.

Shall be some awesome quotes from this thread should we f**k it all up.

The same question comes up for me though. Who though? Who can come in and be a guaranteed better coach than Brown?

That ship has sailed. If we acted earlier we could have picked up Maguire or Hasler.

Best case scenario right now, I’d look at either promoting Wolfe or getting Toovey. But neither may necessarily end up being any better than Brown.

At least Toovey would rip into the refs though.

Literally f**king anyone who isn't named Stone or Hagan.

Take a punt. I don't care if they're not a guarantee, I'd rather give the opportunity to someone like Woolf or Holbrook. Literally f**king anyone will do than Brown and I'll give them the same time and patience as I've given Brown the last four years. This team is better than the last month and I don't think it takes anything more than a coach who will draw a hard line in the sand with his players.

Anyone who has an idea how to select a team. And work the interchange accordingly. And have a game plan.

Brown fails at all three.

He can have a job in the office. Let’s have a real coach for the on field part.

For mine Adam O’Brien or Justin Holbrook. I actually think Nathan Brown would be a good fit at the Titans, but his time with us is probably up

I get it. The season is done, it sucks.. But the logic here is priceless.

Knights win - Wolfe is the best! Deserves all credit! Brown does nothing.

Knights lose with defense getting worse by the week - Wolfe for head coach! Brown deserves all the blame.

Wait what?

If Wolfe gets credit for the early season resolve in defense he equally shares the blame when we leak points.

Anything outside of that is really just illogical.

Unfortunately the coaching market is pretty bare at the moment. The two guys who’s names I keep hearing as up and comers are Holbrook and O’Brian. Other than them there’s a whole bunch of washed up coaches out there who failed to perform at NRL level so I’d rather not go after anyone like that because we’d either be getting more of the same or worse.

Of the guys currently coaching at other NRL clubs the following would be upgrades on Brown.
- Bellamy
- Robinson
- Siebold
- McGuire
- Cleary

Aside from the above I can’t see any of the other current nrl coaches getting more out of the playing group than Brown at the moment so I’d rather stick with him unless we somehow managed to land one of those guys (very unlikely) or if we signed a rookie coach with some serious pedigree.

:rolleyes::rolleyes: They werent hungry enough but .......fielding a team with an average of 100 NRL games per player I'm not entirely surprised. It's a long season for some of these guys only in their second or 3rd NRL season......Take out SKD and Pearce ( both 250+ gamers ) and the average drops enormously..

We always were a team in progress nothing more nothing less. Those who believe the media click bait are delusional.

That's not true, Ramien is in his second season that's about it, everyone else is at least 3 years of first grade under their belt.
Looks at the team tonight
Ponga-debut in 2016
Hunt-debut in 2013
Moga-debut in 2012
Ramien-debut in 2018
SKD-debut in 2007
Mann-debut in 2014
Pearce-debut in 2007
Klemmer-debut in 2013
Levi-debut in 2015
Saifiti-debut in 2015
Matautia-debut in 2014
Barnett-debut in 2015
Glasby-debut in 2013

Watson-debut in 2016
Gavet-debut in 2012
Ese ese-debut in 2015
Buhrer-debut in 2010

As you can see only 1 player in their second year, the next batch of the lesser experienced players have had over 3 years now and the majority 5 years +

I'm talking game time, as do coaches when considering balance of experience within a squad. Check the NRL games experience. There's articles on the amount of NRL games within a squad to win a GF.

I started swimming in 1973. Unfortunately I have no where near 46 years swimming experience.
