Correct

I’ll see out the year and then I’ll put my footy gear away in a box and Re read Never Before and Never Again for the next few years.

No doubt we have endured many bad decisions over the years and that has made following this club very difficult but this is beyond the pale for me.

If Flanagan had of been upfront, fessed up and complied with all that was asked of him then my position would be very different.

Drugs of any sort is dirty business but under the code of “trust me” and “it’s all ok he’s a Dr” that is horrendous..
He has done his time OT and deserves a second chance, I believe he has changed and has probably become a better person, also I would hate to see you off this forum as we have had many a varied discussion and I appreciate the diverse nature of your posts.

Our last coach was a One Nation supporter. I'll take the peptide peddler any day of the week.....

Rather a foolish post on your part.

Because I make a moral stance on the use of illicit substances on unsuspecting football players and the subsequent abrogation of responsibility and lack of conscience of the coach of that team you think I'm bailing in favour of another club well best you think again.

The club has been part of my life > 60 years and I find its moral fiber continually diminishing and until it improves I will remain without a club and with little to no interest in the game of RL itself.

So be happy in your choice and by all means support the bloke who didn't have the balls to own up in the 1st instance or comply in the 2nd.

Bloody hell! We as fans have been going through a tough time for way too long and I am not saying anything here that is plainly obvious. We have had so many posts for the sacking of Mary and Hook and of course they deserved to suffer that fate.

But what is it that, after all of the drama we have been having recently in waiting patiently to have a new coach named, we are now going through further drama after the new coach has been announced?

Our club had some reservations about their selection I feel sure, but they have had to draw the line and make a decision on Flanagan after their initial choice withdrew. The residual choices of applicants I'm also sure were given due consideration and that included Hasler who I feel was not interested in taking the job right from the start and possibly some others who we are not privy to know.

The club had to make an unanimous decision which they did from who was left to choose from. I know that not everyone would be happy with the decision and even if it wasn't Flanagan, if it was Young a lot of us would have been unhappy or if it was another, the same. So no matter who was signed up, there will always be several unhappy fans. Even if they managed to sign up Hasler, there would be some people unhappy about that. Everyone has an opinion.

Flanagan has been around the club as an assistant and list manager and is an assistant at Manly now. No-one raised any issues of his past in him being an assistant so what is the difference now? He will still be coaching but with a different title and with more responsibilities. Even when we had dramas with Mary, many thought that if he was to go then the club had Flanagan ready to take over but couldn't because of his ban.

The decision has been made, we have to live with it and hope Flanagan will do a good job like we had hoped with the others.

I'm now looking forward to better things happening at the club.

If your so unhappy leave now, why are you waiting, if the decision rubs you so much up the wrong way you should go now, people bitching and moaning and others changing teams too funny.
Yes i wanted Flanagan faults and all and i would have been pissed if DYoung got the job but i still would go to the games and read the forum.

Well he isn't in the drivers seat yet and I am interested to see how Carr goes for the duration of the season so no need for me to leave just yet.

I understand your position re Young and I would have been in that boat right along with you but Flanagan and his failure to admit any guilt is another entire matter altogether for me.

I am not asking anyone to agree with me I'm just merely stating my position and intention and the reason behind that.

You taking pot shots as if I am a traitor to the cause is ridiculous and just shows me that the club could do anything and you would ultimately accept it whereas I have had my patience tested one to many times and on an issue that is not negotiable.

Just needs a Journo to look at the forum and see the title of this thread and they will make it into a huge headline. Tomorrow's paper - "Saints fans not happy with Flanno and wanting him sacked immediately. Dean Young would have been the best choice to appease the fans".
