To preface, I think Kyle is shit too. But how can you say that “we lost because Kyle is shit” and not because of goal kicking? Seriously one is subjective and the other is quantitatively correct. One more goal and we win. Simple maths
Poor OT isn’t capable of letting facts get in the way of a good unhinged rant. He might have missed his nap time. He was due to show up after a loss to gloat. If only Ryles had been our coach, he whispers like it’s a rosary………
While OT’s correct that we were unbelievably stupid and that was indeed a contributing factor to the loss - a thing that pretty much all of us agree on - to say that missed goal kicks (one of which was relatively simple for most top flight kickers) weren’t the objective reason we lost the game is daft. We lost several games because of Zac’s poor kicking in ’23, now Holmes is doing the same in ‘25.
OT also seems quite happy to ignore that poor officiating also had a genuine impact on the flow and momentum of the game, something our coach referenced during the press conference as all of those decisions contributed to fatigue, and our mob isn’t capable of thinking clearly under fatigue.
Now if OT had come out and said something like we lost because of a combination of our unbelievable stupidity, poor goal kicking and some questionable officiating, he might have more credibility……but that doesn’t suit his narrative.

OK - but why make it personal?

Firstly, OT gives as good as he gets. He’s a big boy. He’s like an old school front rower - he loves the rough stuff. If he replies I’ll try really hard to read his response without getting as upset as you are about mine.
And I’ll tell you what - if he needs therapy or counselling after my supposedly personal post I’ll gladly chip in for it.

No worries. I'm not upset.

Because the game is getting so close from winning or losing a game, should they implement 1 point gain for a loss by less than 3 points and if you lose by more than 30 points you have a point deducted,
So in St George's case they would have an additional 3 points

FFS how do you deduce my post is a gloat after a loss?

I merely pointed out we are dumb side coached in a dumb manner and our dumbness always costs us.

You said emphatically we lost because we missed 2 conversions and are happy to put that square on Val’s shoulders and you made no mention of their penalty goal off our dumb mistake and evidently that was ok not to do that.

But when I say we lost because they kicked a penalty goal we gifted them that’s not ok and it’s all Val’s fault.

We gifted them 2 right on half time and that IMO ultimately proved the difference.

S F basically dumped on Val and that IMO is not the behaviour of a good coach.

He should be saying yes missing conversions hurts but doing dumb shit things in every game hurts us even more and is what is the major contributing factor in our close losses especially when we score more tries than them.

He should also say that his son is a contributing factor in our close losses due to his total inability to lead from the front, his shit kicking game, his predictable dish off to the edge backrower turning him inside and slow speed and hands.

Evidently that’s got nothing to do with it and Val just needs to practise more.

FMD they took their FG attempt with plenty of time still on the clock did we?

We learnt nothing from our previous close losses and that’s why we lost.

i dont know why we dont do bonus points like they do in Rugby. It encourages a team to keep working even if they are down, and ultimately makes for a better spectacle. I dont think they would need a 4 try bonus point as teams in league dont typically try and kick their way to victory off the boot, but maybe 3 points a win, 2 for a draw and 1 for a loss by 6 or less.

I agree the results are crap but even if we decide to let Flannigan go no one who has experience wants to come to us. As i said our board and owners are a rabble. We are blooding young players at the moment and hopefully if we can recruit a dominant front row leader and a half back.
