Sack Flanagan

Exactly.
People need to think this through. If you truly believe that Dean Young is the answer, then by all means, wish and hope for a Flanno sacking. Because, if Flanno is sacked, your next coach is Deano.........as sure as shit.
Rubbish.

The club could've appointed Deano instead of Hook and they didn't.

They could've appointed Deano instead of Flanagan, they didn't.

You need to let the process play out and if Young ends up as coach, go and have a whinge then.

Haven't you and @mattw5 praised Watsford since he got here and now you're saying he wouldn't be able to appoint a decent coach?

All you're doing is acting as if this is some election between two politicians or something ridiculous, there is a wide world of coaches out there so cross the bridge when we get to it and don't jump to conclusions.

Mind you this wouldn't even be relevant had Flanagan got the team performing.

Flanno after last night can now blame him self for blowing another season away and possibly the first spoon in the history of the Big Red V
Other teams below us are now winning and still 2 points with a bye.
Not dropping his son all season has been why the team isn't playing for the coach so obvious each week not playing for 80 minutes .

Listened to Paul Kent’s podcast the other day they spoke about coaches under pressure he said Flanno is not & we need to stay the course he will get us to where we need to be.

No coach is getting this group of players anywhere.
I'll believe in Shane when he signs us that elite prop he has been trying to get since he arrived, a half back and winger who can attack and defend.

Let's face it. there's a fair few coaches under pressure but not enough talent out there to replace them.

That starts with Daniel Anserson

No.
SFlanno is the one having to face the scrutiny by everyone. How long before he gives in and quits? All too hard. Incompetent corporate structure etc etc. Why should he be the public face whilst the guilty are well hidden? Why put himself under the stress?

I still have faith in him.
Good on you for supporting him but at 33% and dropping fast winning percentage this year you must like the club at the bottom of the ladder

I can't rellax until I know Young has been sacked. I'm sure the new CEO will soon look at sacking:
GM Football - Haran
Millward and Millard
Carr and Young

Weith Flanagan receiving a please explain.
Hi Possm

Is it hard to just sack someone? I hope their contracts end soon. I guess he needs a replacement? When does our new recruitment head from Easts start, and is it confirmed?

The first Three sackings desperately need to happen.

The 4th, I am curious why you think Carr needs to go?

The last one - wow he will have a battle on his hands there. But it must happen. We have the most laughable defence, and he is our defence coach.

They need to keep Flanno. God, if this club can make Flanno look like Poo, then it is more of a shambles then I thought.

Look at the eels this evening, nothing to play for and they turn up at Suncorp and beat the Broncos.

We still had a chance in our season tonight and go up to Townsville and play touch footy against the cowboys.

One team has a great coach who they're playing for and the other doesn't, no prizes for guessing who's who.

How badly I wish we managed to land Rylesy as our coach rather than this incompetent, overrated drug cheat.
The difference being that the eels were at almost full strength, and we have been decimated. Add in the Lomax and Moses Bromance factor.

Don’t worry it sounds like DA like DY will be the next excuse for Flano
The fact that players like to sign with clubs that have coaches they want to play under has nothing to do with why we can’t not sign anyone of note
It has been since we had Griffin that we could not sign anyone of note. I do not think it is the coach. I think it is the location and the lack of facilities. The centre of excellence will fix that.

The other difference being the eels were playing the 5th place team who had won 3 of their past 4 and are pushing for a top 4 spot.
They managed to aim up and win despite coming in to the game as the 16th place side.

We were playing the hot and cold cowboys who were lower than us on the ladder and we lost the game by half time.

If we want to compare injuries, how about the Bunnies tonight? Lost by two to the sharks and they are missing 11 of their top 30 through injury which is more than us. They lost the penalty count 10-2, the six agains 3-1 (I wonder if Bennett will blame the ref in the presser). They had a bloke sin binned. Cronulla had 62 play the balls in souths 20 v souths only having 6 in the sharks 20.
That is what I call gutsy and brave, not like our usual bullshit where the refs bring us in and out of the game and people cry foul.
Again Souths with nothing to play for and they aim up in that fashion.

All in all, we're seeing other bottom 4 sides show some heart and if we aren't careful we could end up winning the spoon this year.

Yes Souths were impressive. i cannot take that away from them. Credit to Wayne the GOAT there. And yes I have to agree with you on this. I wish the Dragons repaid the fans with performances like this.

Coaching, management, mentoring and leading is ALWAYS about getting the absolute most out of your players/workers/staff. Our squad is basically made up of the following:

* Current rep level players (Val and Sua)
* Good serviceable NRL level players (Liddle, ChristanT)
* Young guns that are still pups (TCouch, RCouch, HStewart, Dylan Egan, LKT, LPT, VFafita, Tsougranis)
* Union convert in embryo stage of NRL (Lawson)
* Old ex-representative players in their twilight (Klemmer, Cook, Gutho, C Allen, JDB)
* Journeyman who have never reached their potential (Suli, KFlann, Guler, Ilias)
* Players that arent NRL level and only to see 1st Grade if injuries ravage us (Lawrie, M Molo, RFM, BMM)
* Players that promised the world potentially but just can't get there (Sloan, Sione Finau, Luciano)

Obviously players can fit into a number of these categories, but I have placed them in the ones that IMHO they fit best.

This squad has over-achieved. Credit for this must go to firstly, the players themselves for having the desire to play above your ceiling and secondly to the Coaches/Leaders for being able to extract that extra bit out of the individual player. This extra bit, when accumulated together via the TEAM performance adds up to a team playing WAY above the expectations of any "expert" or fan.
We all get frustrated when we see our players do DUMB shit or not be able to execute a fundamental skill or not be quick enough to close a gap, or not be able to score a miracle Xavier Coates type of try, or tap on a slick pass to your winger. But the reality is that our players are just that LITTTLE BIT to young/green, to old, to slow, to immobile, to dumb, to small, to regimented, too unskilled, too weak, too lacking in confidence. The squad lack of quality is not a myth, it is a FACT.
In all our games the commentators, fans, posters on this forum, experts give us no chance in every game and then we push the Raiders, Dogs, Roosters, Warriors,Sharks, etc, beat the Eagles, Storm, Broncos, etc and everyone is in disbelief that not only did we not concede a 50 burger, but nearly won and in a handful of those losses, were actually the better team and lost. Being too young, slow, unskilled, dumb, immobile, etc, is why we lose the close games. Our effort, desire, etc gets us to the point where we are in it up to our eyeballs, but then our lack of ability means we lose most of the close games. Intelligence, speed, athleticism, natural talent are all God given and cannot be coached. All these can be increased by really small margins by training, repetition, etc but the increase to God given talents can only be improved by negligible amounts. Eg, if a player is inherently a slow runner, doing sprints will help to increase that players speed, but not enough that he can run down the FOX.

When compounded by the unbelievable injury list and that with each long term injury you are now asking a player who technically is younger, dumber, less skilled, less experienced, has less ability to come in and play at the level of the player that just got injured, and multiply that by 7 or 8 injured players and you can see why we just don't have the cattle to win these close games. Heck. It's a miracle we are still competing
