Sack Flanagan

Be careful what you wish for…. if Flano is sacked Dean Young will be parachuted in to take over… is that you really want??
...as a caretaker and fail dismally and finally put that while sorry saga to bed.

The season may well be gone anyway so let's kill two birds with one stone.

Start fresh next year with a marquee prop, a decent halves pairing and a proper coach perhaps.

Won't happen.
Dragons show a reluctance to sack coaches.
Mary, Griffin now Flano.
At least Manly have the balls to sack Siebold.
New CEO, hopefully bigger balls. Shane and Payten are the only 2 coaches under pressure, cowboys responded last week if we can't beat the worst team in the comp this weekend the drums will be beating nonstop until we get a good win or 10 in a row? 🤣🫠

Get a win achieves nothing imo.
Constant winning which looks unlikely.

Trouble is, even if they do respond, no-one in the board and management has any footy smarts. There is a good chance whoever they recruit next will not be any better. It will probably be Dean Young or Michael Ennis next, and we will be having the same discussion.

I’ve watched 4 teams play tonight and honestly we are nowhere near any of them. I just can’t see how we get out the predicament we are in. I’m sick of hearing for the last couple of seasons we have so many good young forwards coming through and yet none seem to really have an impact or make a difference to what we are achieving

For years many of us could see there was no real effort exerted to turn around our gradual decline as a footy club. Some of us wanted to believe otherwise, some of us just knew. We are now in the midst of some of the worst of it - we know our team will go out each week and if they are not blown off the park by a far superior team, they will no doubt find a dozen ways to lose a game themselves, or fall over the line and make out they are some genuine team. The 17, apart from being benign in attack and slow, don't look spirited even if they are trying hard. They don't strike me as a happy, connected bunch which sadly tells our culture has gone backwards even since the much maligned McGregor - and those weren't enjoyable times.

Anyway, as you said, we are so far off the pace it is actually beyond embarrassing, and the same names keep popping up on the team sheet every Tuesday afternoon, as if to give a big up yours to the Dragons fans who've been as patient as any fanbase over the last decade. I can take losses in the pursuit of better things but when certain individuals start sabotaging the greater good because of their own ego, it really boils the blood and make me mourn for the club we once were.

Honestly Young and Ennis shouldn't even be on our coaching staff now. That's why Ryles didn't sign on the dotted line he wasn't going to bend over for the club he wanted his own assistants and staff. I don't think either will be a head coach anywhere ever they are unproven assistants

And yet we get criticised for bring negative
.Give us a good win loss record and I am the first to compliment them.

As Thurston said on nine in regards to Siebold's sacking its a business now all about wins and losses.

Some cant see that after the different ways we can lose games.
Last 3 games prove it.

We lose all games for essentially the same reason, we now expect to lose and we play each game s if we expect to lose….and then we lose.

Exactly this. Good post. The Broncs Cowboys game last night was a cracker. I too thought during the game that we are so far off that standard it's not funny. We can wish all we like but it's called reality,

Flanagan and Anderson have stated that this year won't be much, 2027 will be a good season. If so they need to get on their bike and start recruiting a large number of player for 2027.

1. A new fullback
2. Two new wingers
3. A new center
4. Reed to 7 and Atkinson to 6
5. A marquee prop to pair with KK
6. A young hooker to pair with Liddle
So, all we need is basically a new team...
Too easy

It's not the fault of our young forwards, it is the coach.

If Shane isn't under pressure after tonight then our management has failed the club and fans. Cowboys showing some fight for the coach we are playing to equal worst team in the comp and hoping for a win. We lose tomorrow Flanno has to go simple as that
In principle I agree, but what's the succession plan?
Dean Young? Siebold? Hasler? Surely not Ennis?!?!

I don't get paid enough to make that choice but I would personally be looking at Arthur, Peter wallace or Kevvie Walters. Peter wallace would be my top pick he knows the Penrith blueprint and after watching them tonight Penrith favourites to win the comp they are just an incredible footy team.
