We have scored 210 second half points this year

3 games this year we have scored 0 second half points

and we have scored 12 second half points in the last 4 games

Thanks for that.

Take away the Dogs and the Sea Eagles wins from earlier and the year and its about 1.5 tries a game in the second half. Not much has changed since the Mary days with fade outs and fitness.

Flanagan? Seriously, though - how poor have McCullough and McGuire been? Griffin has to take some responsibility for those two.

Bird at the back has to be one of the worst decisions of his tenure so far.

A really disappointing season. Not really any better than last year.
McGuire has been fine.

Watching the press conference Hook is deadset delusional.
“The opposition were very good, it had that finals feel to it tonight”
Is he high? That game was dogshit. Error ridden rubbish. Both teams sucked.
Seriously, he is kidding.

I don't like that. Reminds of me of the last coach.

Didn't see it and don't know the context but I would want our coach laughing off suggestions of finals. "While the team doesn't do the little things right to win games we don't need to be worrying about finals because we won't be there".

He’s a jinx, just like that bloody all red Illawarra strip!

McGuire tries hard, just like McCulloch, but they play like they are stuck in quick sand compared to others. Bog average and past the modern current game.
They should do what Merrin did and quit. I know Merrin wasn't up to playing anymore and his body wasn't where he wanted it to be to play "modern" football but his decision to quit might have been also as a result of him being able to see the club was just not getting anywhere. He could have just played and gone through the motions and got paid but somehow he could also see that maybe Hook isn't the answer as another reason for leaving. Hook and he I don't think saw eye to eye.

Poor sod is showing all the symptoms of being ‘ shell - shocked’ .

After a season that began with hope , it has gradually declined to the depths of despair . If we supporters are not inmune from it , then neither is the coach .

We just need to ensure that it does not work it’s way to the brain - as was the case with our recently departed maestro - signs of that will begin with the man shaving his hair completely bare . 😶

That was quite ridiculous - finals football? I don't think he realises you have to play teams like Melbourne and Souths in the finals.

Picks Ramsey at centre. I mean, literally the entire league can see he's a defensive liability - except Griffin.

We have our best attacking weapons RavMax
Hmm yeah nah, let's get the team the just go down the left side so Norman can do a short side bomb.

Sloan is our future fullback, has been playing well... Nah, don't want him playing footy, let's pick a 2ndrower/centre there .

But hey, it's ok - he's rebuilding

Just read the article on nrl.com
Hook is kidding.we are still in it.
In what in the shit.
He says we will worry about next week.
He's said the same bull in the last few weeks.
Good things we can build on for what 2030.
The coach is in denial.
I’m sure he knows we’re done for the year but if he says it publicly some of the players will clock off.

What should he say in the media publicly when we are 2 points behind 7th with 4 rounds to go.
There are supporters out there that dont all think like this forum and cling to hope.
Be disappointed all you like with losing and how we have been playing our game but what would you say if you were him..publicly!

Spot on! I realise that the coaches have to speak plain vanilla at these press conferences, but "the opposition were very good" and "still in the hunt for the finals" is ridiculous. Our defence was better for maybe 60 minutes. Fixable errors like ball handling and penalties remain stubbornly high. Defence may be better, but it is not resilient. Any error in our own half almost guarantees a try to the opposition. I can't even use the word "attack" to describe what we threw at the Raiders when we were inside their 20. Maybe the coaches are concentrating on improving the defence and hoping the attack will come later, but if that is the case, it is not working! All I am left with is hope for 2022.

I haven’t even watched the presser, I can’t yet bring myself to. I think I’ll go camping up the bush for the night and forget all about NRL for the weekend. We actually played really well just couldn’t score a try, that’s what makes it all the more disappointing. Lawrie and JDB were so so good. Would have loved to see Jayden Sullivan play behind that pack as opposed to last weeks.

Do I think we will make it..no
But that is no scoop, that was my thoughts at the start of he year
All i want to see is some development of these younger players, introduction of better players and cull the deadwood.
I think we are heading that way for 2022 because seriously besides Hynes..what standout player is (or was) available to purchase for 2022 after Hook settled into the job and could start to assess who and what we need. 2023 will be a different story and I expect some bigger changes next year
