I don't think anyone here believes firing Griffin will fix the issues, but you have to start somewhere and it is clear he is not the solution to absolutely everyone except Ben Hunt.

It's the coaches' job to get the team winning games. He didn't do so - consistently. End of story.

The majority of supporters understand the board is dysfunctional and divided, plus key positions are given to people who either have no clue or are old boys of the club.

However, Griffin is blamed by supporters for the things he has control- game plan and team selection.

Everyone that makes a first grade multi-million dollar team sport is elite.

The coach and leadership shapes and prepares the team.

Griffin has been woefully inadequate in every department, from his commencement in a blaze of racist nonsense, to the attempt to sign Folau, to stacking the team with his old qld cronies (after committing to be a developer of the youth), playing Norman ahead of Sullivan, trying to resign Norman and needing to be overruled, playing Mbye over anyone, freezing out players who need to go and ‘clear the air’ with him.

Taking the team to 11th, 10th and last. Playing the most mins numbing brand of football possible. Taking absolutely no responsibility for his litany of mistakes.

That’s just off the top of my head. This guy is not just incompetent. He’s been a complete disaster.

Great point mate. We don’t know exactly what happened for the club to be so shit. But I’m sure the coach had something to do with it. Change is always a good thing when things aren’t going well. So it’s good to see the coach moved on and hopefully a new coach will bring positive change. With the way this club persisted with Mary for so long it’s good to see them make a change sooner rather than Later.
